Unexpectedflash Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 I actually think we may be number 1 in NIL this year lol. Just reading some boards I saw KU and UNC are around 4 million and they're both regarded as top 5 in NIL. It has to be appealing to whatever coach we may get in the future that they could realistically get whatever team they want with the amount of money we have. I am sure it is frustrating to some of these coaches at lower schools to lose their best players because they cannot pay up. I know a lot of coaches don't like recruiting but Woody has shown here you don't really have to put in effort all year until the portal opens up and just outbid everyone and you can still get a talented team.

But nil and unlimited transfers is certainly making the recruit a kid and develop him a thing of the past. What's the point honestly. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk

This may be an anomaly. The $6M question is: are the Cooks and Simons (and others) donating to the Woodson Disaster Avoidance Fund, or will they continue to give, regardless of who our coach is? Is this simply an attempt to prop up a failed experiment or is this a sign about the future direction of Indiana basketball NIL? kottke, Hornsby and thebigweave 3

Also think it depends on who the next coach is. Joe Dirt probably not, Brad Stevens then maybe 68Hoosier and Hollywood Mike Miranda 1 1

JSHoosier Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 At this point would anyone really be surprised if IU hired a fictional character to be coach? I mean it doesn't get much lower than "screw it, you played here 40 years ago so you're hired". Hornsby, thebigweave, Chris007 and 1 other 3 1

I assume it's the access to the little chats and happy hours Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk

Hornsby Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 They are all very close friends. I don't remember who was in the pic but they are all very close. Figured. So the 2 million would certainly not just be for any coach iu hired. It's a special circumstance. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk
TTT Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Conwell to X seems to be an excellent choice for him.
TTT Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 It would be a great show to see coach Woodson on Shark Tank.

Maybe when he is 20 years removed from the college game this fan base will quit viewing him as savior? I 100% agree! We’ve had openings that would have given him opportunities to coach here, but he didn’t. He ain’t coming, can we move on? pumpfake 1
