Maybe they should chant "We can do better than Dusty."

Stevens is options 1-3.

Anything outside of that, we're canceling the program and funding football. Football school!

At this point, the only thing that matters to me is allowing Dolson to get on with his job and getting a replacement lined up ASAP. Personally, I feel no need to rehash the Woody era. I have already stated my preference for him to be removed immediately, but I don’t know that it really matters that much.
The portal will open up quickly, and the new coach needs to be in place to do adequate portal evaluation and current player evaluation as it surely seems we will be replacing nearly our entire roster. Personally, there are very few players that I have any interest in returning, but the new coach might feel differently, and I am open to giving guys a second chance with proper coaching in a better system.

It may be considered bad form to link to the alleged remarks.  This is why the moderators on this site and others that are well moderated prohibit personal attacks.
Either way I don't believe it. How many times have we seen this claimed in real life and later find out it was made up. Without proof I'm not buying it. Woodson is going to make himself a victim in all of this imo.

I’d take anyone who wants to stay honestly. Assuming of course we land a competent coach. Rice, in particular, but really all of them have been misused in an unforgivable fashion. Rice would be a top-5 PG in a tempo offense that spreads out the court. Even Ballo who benefits from this system offensively, is pulled way too far out on defense and in the screen and roll game. I’m convinced there is a good team here and would love to see what a good coach could do with it.

Letting him ride out the year is just further proof we don’t have standards and terrifies me for the next hire.

Brother, the way I see it, is this is just further proof of Quinn letting everyone know he is The Man and you’re not going to play with him in the slightest. Even if he is on his way out. Scumbag!

I'll preface this by saying I want him out of the program today.  But I do think from an optics perspective for possible future coaches, it does make the program look better to let him have his retirement.

EDIT: but if they go out and lose by 20+ to Michigan on Saturday and the students are chanting for Dusty May, those positive optics go out the window.

If our next coaches is afraid that he might get fired after failing miserably for just shy of 4 years then I don’t think he’s the right guy

....great post. I feel the same way. I really feel a number of these players are plain, old spoiled brats that don't respect their coach and have been allowed to carry on without being held accountable.

If a player wants to stay, especially if it's a successful and highly respected coach he might just want to stay because he finally can be coached and managed by a good coach. jmo

My bad misunderstood your post.

Sorry if this is old news. I went back a few pages. IDS is claiming they met with the team last night and no responsibilities will change as of now.

Well, if this is "new news", then tomorrow should be interesting for all parties concerned...

It would be one thing if the season was going but it's a disaster. Nobody believes he is retiring. That's a joke.

I don’t think future coaching prospects would put any weight into letting Woodson finish the last 8 games of a dead duck season or not. There is no benefit to him staying other than for QB, MW, and I guess the job security of Dolson, if you care about that.

Lol good lord. We need some official news for the noon hour because this is getting goofy.

I like to think BTB broke him and now he’s joined us is speculating about hypothetical coaches for our hypothetical opening. SEC SEC SEC!

I do have some small defense for Woodson that I believe he is receiving racist and threatening messages. Unfortunately, we do have that dark corner of our fanbase, like many other fanbases. However, there is no credible threat IMO, just really bad people able to talk nonsense digitally without the threat of being punched in the face for being shity racists.

None of this is about race... it's about ability, attitude, and performance. Woodson has failed on all three. He should never have been hired after a mediocre NBA coaching career, and definitely should not have been brought back for year 4. He's an abject failure as a college coach, and is, IMO, being judged on that basis alone.
