11 games in and zero good wins. Chances of not making it are strong. Just wonder what excuses the king will use. No injuries so far so he cant use that one.
But if he gets fired he will still always be the king of indiana to his twitter cult

The hump.
New players getting to know one another.
Hard to win on the road (and probably at home) in the B1G.
Needed to work harder.
I’m not gonna sit here and answer questions from you or the fans.

Uh, Cupps is out.  :)

Woodson cult pounded their chest after taking down mn at home. 10 times the money for the king.

The University of Minnesota's men's basketball program has a much smaller budget, estimated to be around $625,000 per year.

Another year, another disappointing IU hoops season.

The silver lining is that as our season outlook continues to grow dimmer, the activity around our next coach will ignite.

I am still hoping for Brad Stevens. In the words of Lloyd Christmas, “So you’re saying there’s a chance!!!”

Count me as one saying Woodson won't make it the entire season. I think the wheels fall off once we consistently play big 10 competition! I was watching purdue yesterday when they lost lol. They play way harder than pur team imo. We have some disappointing losses on the way imo

Because of his history with the program and his important friends, I'd be surprised if IU let him go before the season ends.

They may make agreements behind closed doors that this season will be his last or he can fake an illness or announce his "retirement" at the end of the season.

The white guy smoking cigars and drinking wine with him might have other ideas. I'm guessing he is a big money booster

Interesting

 Do you know something?

I don't have direct knowledge of the situation. I just imagine as a sign of respect for Woodson's past combined with his friendliness with BoT members and donors that even if they are really unhappy and want a change that they'd let him finish the season.

If they thought firing Woodson could bring about a very successful season, then maybe. But I don't know that anyone thinks firing Woodson helps us this year, so they might as well save their buddy the shame. Plus, if they wanted him they are delusional, so they might be delusional enough to think he can turn this around.

Sorry but I have no idea what your first sentence means.

Anyway, at the end of the season I think the entire basketball staff, from strength coach to head coach, needs to be blown up and we need a new leader and culture. No holdovers with past attitudes/culture/experiences/expectations. EVERYTHING needs to be changed and tied to new head coach.

That’s your reasoning for not firing him in the middle of the season and having an interim coach, sounds logical!  Why not fire him now, have an interim coach and you make that perfectly that he will not be retained

Hiring a guy with zero college experience is beyond incompetence. It really is. Then throwing 6 million at the problem thinking that would fix it. From the admins to the boosters they all are to blame for this fissco.

And there is zero chance the king makes the ncaa thus year without going at least 11-7 in ths big ten going forward. He has zero good wins

As much as I want Woodson fired before the end of the season, it is not going to happen. I'd be happy with the announcement that he will complete the season, and then step down/resign/retire/whatever... not sure that will happen either... but I just don't see IU sending him packing before the season ends, no matter how much he deserves it.

With you on this. His majesty is not getting fired mid season no matter how poorly it goes IMO, and as much as I would like it/how much it could heal the divide in the fanbase he seems way too proud a person to announce it as his last season.

Im fairly convinced this separation will be ugly and public. Woody has a history of being less than gracious when he gets relieved of his coaching duties, which, coincidentally, has happened every time he has been a HC.

I also don’t think an interim coach accomplishes anything in the near term and I really wouldn’t want to risk an Ohio State situation. We cannot afford another miss or take a chance on someone who rallies for some good wins. We need a full and real coaching search. Not a Brad said no and panic situation. After the moves for football I have faith in Dolson+Whitten if they’re allowed to operate independently.

I believe one cultist called that quad 4 win a "positive performance" that had all of us realists cowering in the shadows.

I don't know how it will go.  If he actually misses the tourney with a $6M team he won't have any sort of case.  And good luck going against Scott, his fanbase approval is very high.

IMO, as long as Woody gets his money and some sort of made up resignation story to make it sound like not a firing, he'll stay fairly quiet, this whole thing has mostly been about status and money for Woody.  But, maybe I am wrong and he goes out ugly.  We'll see.

Enjoy firing him Scott!  Payback.

I would have more interest in this years team if Woodson was gone. It is hard for me to watch such a poorly coached team. But bringing in a intearn coach who gets them playing better and making the tournament and make a little run in tournament could be a problem.

Bringing in an interim HC isn't a thing, they would have to elevate an asst coach to HC, and since MW likes nothing but yes men surrounding him,  I don't see any of those guys even close to capable of being a HC. It will be Woeful Woody for the remainder of this, once again, lost season.

Not if you stipulate the terms up front!  But I get it, we don’t want to take a chance for another Mike Davis issue, even if we have one of the best rosters money can buy.  For me personally, MW can’t be gone soon enough

But why can’t you make it a thing.  I know Crean is available, lol
