Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

Yes, and regardless of their own reality of whether or not they were on the hot seat they would be.  There isn't a downside as I mentioned before -- if Woodson is gone, you just have a decommit from a player who you wouldn't have had if IU not recruited him.  And quite simply if the NIL is good, a player might stay anyway.  I really can't think of any player that transferred AWAY from Indiana because of NIL....only ones that transferred away because of playing time.
The nil is good because ferguson is using the cooks money to finance his buddy. Ferguson will be a bitter dude if we can his boy

Yep he said IU has the right coach, just not the right players

With NIL it's very hard to win right away.

And he said at a job like IU you have to have someone who knows what it means to play at IU. Woody knows. Maybe he was pitching for May

Who picked the players?

Don't forget Isiah, he's on the local Indy radio show today describing why IU needs to keep Woodson.

We need all these old timers to go away. Thank you for the contributions in the past, but you’re not helping the program in the present.

This is why I'm convinced they will do all they can to bring him back. It's personal to them and their egos. They need to prove their boy is the guy no matter how many years it takes. They will never admit he stinks. They are probably trying to get the cooks to give him 8 million.

I have no emotional connection to Woodson the player since I was way too young to remember him. I don't like Woodson the coach even a little bit so I'm perfectly fine with him getting booed and having to hear chants for him to be fired for the rest of the season. I'm also okay with the blowout losses piling up on his record. If these things don't get someone who "loves" IU to resign/retire in the best interest of the program, he's totally earned them and can reap his rewards for all I care.

We’ll take it from some who has watched him play almost every game, it doesn’t bother me a bit that he’s getting booed.  All the stuff he has done or no done, he deserves everything he gets and much much more.  He’s ruined his own legacy, with a little help from his friends.

I understand loyalty but, Isaiah is probably butt hurt  from his coaching failures, so he's  relating his embarrassment to what he thinks Woodson is feeling.

I see folks bemoaning the “optics” explanation. Let me simplify: IU is 14-6 (5-4). Illinois is 13-6 (5-4).

We all know Illinois is better right now, better coached, and so on. But be honest with yourself that the situation currently doesn’t look the same to a national writer/outsider/casual fan. And those things matter.

Exactly why the King cooked up such a weak non conference schedule. The single digit wins against crappy low level programs don’t show up in the win/loss column as anything other than wins. But the trickier can only go so far. Anyone who knows this team knows the record is a sham.

He also is one of the people who helped hand-pick Woodson so he's going to defend it

I remember beating my head against the wall trying to explain to non-IU fans what an awful experience Archie Miller basketball was. They just didn't get it, but they weren't watching us closely. They didn't see us struggling to score 60 points in most games, a coach who subbed himself out of leads and then made his assistants take questions from the media or a guy taking the ball out of bounds and having no one to inbound it to because the other four guys had all run to the other end.

From a bird's eye view, it's probably harder for the average fan to see what's wrong here. But all of us know because we're experiencing it every day.

Dolson is going to need massive balls to fire this clown

It will he dolson against the machine. Hiring former players who are not good coaches is a god awful idea.

Ugh, this is giving me the, see photo below, vibes. While I believe it is great to have the former players in and around the program, they definitely need to stop trying to tell us whippersnappers how the program should be ran like it was back in my day. It don't work like that anymore and all of their coaching/executive records prove that, lol!

I thought the same thing!  Woodson took the easy way out for recruiting and threw a bunch of money at higher ranked players, didn’t do his homework on how they fit together and whatever he thinks he is playing

Drinking game in here.   Anytime someone posts King, Ferguson, Cooks, Quinn or Buckner you have to take a shot

I wish I could play, but I have an archery tournament to run tonight and tomorrow....so, for everyone else....King, Ferguson, Cooks, Quinn....and Buckner!!!! You are welcome in advance for those that will now pass out for the rest of the night and not have to worry about IU basketball for a brief, but glorious time...
