Fire Coach Woodson Thread

So the Bosnian committed because of his relationship with the king. Does anyone honestly think the king isn't fighting for year 5? You are darn right he is and he has fergusons atm card.

2 things: 1) neither of us knows why he chose IU and this timing to commit. We can speculate, but we don’t know. What we do know is this: he’s not some 16yo who just hiked in from a village in East Bumphrey, Bosnia. He’s a 21yo professional basketball player and I guarantee you he made a decision with his eyes wide open and fully understanding the situation. 2) I really don’t know what you would expect to hear in that scenario. “I am incredibly excited to start this next chapter of my career and I look forward to getting here in June and going to work with Coach Stev……., uh, Coach Woodson and the staff.” Kid said exactly the right thing.

I guess but a new coach may have zero interest in him. He is the kings recruit and fergusons employee. I wonder how much they paid him. My guess is 700k at least. That king fully expects to be back.

Here is how Kathy's process works. On one side of the table you have dolson. On the other side you have

Quinn

Ferguson

May

Wittman

The cook's

Simon's

Yeah guess who wins the 5th year argument. This is why the king is recruiting. I will stick with my prediction that he gets that 5th year. I don't think dolson has near the power some of you think he has.

Brian Kelly was literally on a recruiting visit for ND when he took the LSU job. Mike Woodson, or any coach for that matter, is going to continue to recruit until he/she is relieved of their duties.

If he misses the tournament, maybe he'll go away. If he makes the tournament? I'd expect year 5 of this crap.

I see folks bemoaning the “optics” explanation. Let me simplify: IU is 14-6 (5-4). Illinois is 13-6 (5-4).

We all know Illinois is better right now, better coached, and so on. But be honest with yourself that the situation currently doesn’t look the same to a national writer/outsider/casual fan. And those things matter.

Does anyone honestly think any coach on a hot seat isn’t fighting to coach the next year? Any sitting coach would do the same.

Yes, and regardless of their own reality of whether or not they were on the hot seat they would be.  There isn't a downside as I mentioned before -- if Woodson is gone, you just have a decommit from a player who you wouldn't have had if IU not recruited him.  And quite simply if the NIL is good, a player might stay anyway.  I really can't think of any player that transferred AWAY from Indiana because of NIL....only ones that transferred away because of playing time.

Did you honestly expect common sense to prevail here? On this thread no less?

(you're exactly right by the way)

So full PR mode now?

Quinn and ferguson should be banned from iu campus for life given how they have destroyed this program. Those two are cancers
