And I will say until I’m blue in the face: EVERYBODY at IU gets dudes. That has never been the problem. NIL makes that even easier in some ways, I would guess.

I think that is where Ben is different like CCC, he doesn't just want dudes! He wants his dudes, the ones that fit his system, understand, learn, execute, dominate! It's what IU basketball has been missing for 25 years!

It’s not just that. Archie was far far FAR more experienced at this level. He was a P5 player, a P5 assistant coach, and a deep run NCAA tournament head coach.

Until this season McCollum had quite literally never had any association with a D1 program; not as a player, a grad assistant, or as an assistant coach.

He might succeed greatly, but he would be an extremely risky choice.

Less of a risk than your guy micah, I promise you that!

Currently 36 in defensive efficiency and 43 in offensive efficiency. As the competition has increased, the numbers aren’t as strong

You or me are bad with numbers because i see 20 and 25 on kenpom. In his first year!!! I’ve watched most Michigan games and don’t think his guards are great which is the opposite of his FAU teams. I imagine that changes because he has a 5 star committed for next year

The Dude abides. I don't have a clue about a coach for IUBB. Lol.

I will say if IUFB stays the course y'all won't even care about basketball season anymore. ;-)

I will still care but I'm really excited for IUFB next season after seeing the recruiting he's doing. We just nabbed a big piece for our OLine from Notre Dame yesterday and he's been getting some really good players at QB, RB, and multiple other positions. Football's looking to be really good next year!

He started at Minny at age 30. In eight seasons there he had three 20 win seasons, two NCAAs and an NIT championship, and won B1G coach of the year. Did I mention he did that at friggin Minnesota, and did all of it before his 40’th bday? That’s pretty damn good ‘big boys playing’ for a young coach at the worst job in a 14 team conference.

Minny isn’t that bad of a job. And the reason it’s bad is because pitino and Johnson ran it into the ground. Tubby had like five 20 win seasons and Haskins obviously had that fun FF team with Bobby whatshisname.

Northwestern is the worst job in the Big Ten and has been forever.

If we’re hiring Mini Pitino I’m going to start making non-satire Greg Tongel posts.

Collins would be on my short list. I think he’s done great there and would do well at IU.

Not at all, I haven't been argumentive at all today. Really have no idea where you are getting this from. Someone said they worried about McCollum because he hasn't had any power conference experience. They brought up how was McCollum different than Archie because of Archie failing at IU. All I said is that because Archie failed doesn't mean you shy away from other mid major coaches.

My bad!  Now that you explain, I completely misunderstood it.

It’s a bad job now because Minnesota lacks NIL.  It’s much harder for Johnson to win now than Pitino jr when he was there.

Richard Pitino wouldn’t be in my top 5 but probably deserves an interview before McCollum

Surely he's had offers in the 10+ years he's been at NW but he's still there.  Some coaches are very satisfied to stay in one place especially when it's close to home and where the pressure to win and the fish bowl isn't what it would be at IU with us "true fans".  That's not meant as a slam against your post just that not every personality is meant for the bright lights of Bloomington.
