Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Well you would have to wait till he was done with the tournament and he’s not a guarantee.

You'd have to wait until after the tournament for any home run hire, even next year. At least make an attempt and maybe they get knocked out early, he's not a guarantee but as is we're guaranteed stuck with a dud.

IMO the "home run" hire was nothing more than a ruse to keep Dusty May from replacing Woody.  The optics are far better for QB and Woody's buddies if he were replaced by a Pearl or Drew or someone at that level vs being replaced by someone like Dusty who is much younger and with less high level head coaching experience than a Pearl or Drew.

lol….whats your end game here? Are you trying to imply that Woodson is as good as IU can get?

Nobody wants to be at IU, but you’ll have to drag Woody out of this place kicking and screaming!  The duality of mediocre coaching fans.

But still much more experience and success that Mediocre Mike. Buckner just wants to see how far he can drive the Indiana men's basketball program in to the ground. His legacy has been trashed, along with Woodson's.

You seem mighty frustrated. So college basketball IS the real world and you know because you played?  I would assume you would have had to play very recently given how NIL has changed the recruiting dynamic. When did you play

If you have a chance, this morning’s Ft Wayne Journal Gazette has a well written article about Woodson and the historical perspective of other coaches who took their team to the tournament the first 2 years of their tenure and then backslid in the 3rd year. Some interesting names and a fair and objective analysis of the situation.

Won’t let me link the article but a search for Dylan Sinn might work

Woody inherited arguably the best player in college basketball his first 2 years. Woody is also 66 and everyone despises him.

Good response. Maybe read the article before jumping to conclusions as to why I posted this

I keep thinking about IU telling the NIT that we wouldn't be interested in an invite.  This is really concerning to me.  I heard Calipari on the radio today. He was asked about if the players were playing for their NIL.  He gave an answer, which could be coach speak, about his team enjoys playing with one another and they want to keep the season going as long as possible.  Evidently, that wasn't the case with IU's players or the coaching staff.  Under Knight, our goals were to win a Big Ten Title, and if invited win an NCAA title or NIT title.  Under Woodson and Dolson, our program is such a mess that we wanted the season to end.  The program is being mismanaged.
And it appears unserious about ever going after good coaches. I am guessing at this point Woodson gets year 5. They clearly want him to stay. Boy I thought archie was the bottom but it appears not

Problem is this is more than a "backslide."  0 for 31.
