Tonight's weekly radio show -

Mike Woodson on Indiana's transition game: "That's been something we've really stressed. We are focusing on that. When that ball changes hands, we got enough guys to handle the ball."

Mike Woodson on Indiana's rebounding: "That's an area we've got to get better at."

Woodson says in order to become a great defensive team, all of the players need to understand they have to communicate more. Says some things aren't clicking yet because there is a lack of communication.

Woodson says he is trying to stay away from shortening the rotation like he had to do last season. Repeats that he wants to use 9-10 guys all season long this year.  Mike Woodson, on "Inside Indiana Basketball with Mike Woodson": "The kind of team that we've put together, I feel good about every player playing and contributing...I want to try to get to 9 or 10 players playing every night."

"Basketball, I've always felt, is a thinking man's game. The guy that really outhinks you can beat you with all the talent in the world."

Injury Report: Jakai Newton out indefinitely, knee, reported 10/17

                            Isaiah Thompson new injury, upper body, questionable Tues., reported 11/6

Indiana is a 12.5 point favorite on one site...12 points on others. O/U 144

FGCU has three starters from a decent basketball team.  Isaiah Thompson (14.9 pts, 3.2 a, 37%). Chase Johnston (12.7 pts, 2.8 rebs) shot 41% overall and 37% threes. Forward Zach Anderson and center Andre Weir (9.2, 6.2 rebs) were the top two rebounders from last season, and head coach Pat Chambers...portalled, I like to verb nouns.

FGC plays fast. Last season, the Eagles launched the 29th most triple attempts in D1. They knocked down 35% of their long-range jumpers and took care of the ball, but they were often worked on the glass, and their defense wasn't their best feature, at times....most times.  

This will not be a blowout.  But it will be fast. But can anyone put the ball in the hoop and/or guard?

Finally, a real game. It has been an exhausting recruiting offseason I am ready to ***** and moan about missed shots, defense, and turnovers!

Gameday!!! So pumped. Been waiting for this since March 19. A few things

1) FGCU is no joke. Almanac had them 2nd in their league. Saw their best player is questionable. 

2) Early on I am watching these three things:

• Can Galloway become a double figure scorer? Only did that in 9 of 32 games last year. Would be nice for that number to increase a bit. Only two games but I think he scored a total of 7 points in the exhibition. 
• Can Malik stay out of foul trouble? If so, he is in line for a major year. 
• Can Banks/Gunn become reliable options off the bench? 

I think if the answer is yes, not only does that raise the ceiling for this team but also sets the program up in better shape for the future.

3) Again..it was against not so great competition, but I was impressed by Kel'el Ware. Coming in to this year I thought he would be the 4th best player. You could argue he was the best player for IU

4) Brings me to my last point...we don't have a best player. IU has four guys who I think are capable of having a great game each night. X, Mackenzie, Malik, and Kel'el. I really like that part of this team.
