I believe it was made clear to KU folks that this is a regular end of season press conference and it was announced like it was just because he hasn't done one in a while. I don't think he's necessarily announcing anything.

Abdur Rahim was making 200k as the Kennesaw St HC. I’m sure the next guy will do better, but it would need to be a pretty serious step up to get to what high end P5 Asst’s make.

FBS money will start kicking in next year, so that should help the school, but (with zero evidence) I get the sense that Kennessaw's athletic dept. isn't struggling.

I'm wondering the same thing. The university made it sound like it wasn't a big deal but I don't believe that since he missed the entire post season.

I can't believe what some of these administrators are doing to sound like they are sensitive to who knows what. Weren't the crusades a religious endeavor? Isn't Valpo a school with a religious affiliation? I guess I'm just too old to understand today's world.

Not to get too far into it but it all depends on your perspective. Some might try to justify 9/11 or ISIS or the majority of what either side does in the Middle East as just "a religious endeavor." Anyone can take offense to almost anything. We could use these opportunities to learn and celebrate differences but that would be difficult because we're told to feel threatened and should lash out by degrading the other side. Good times.

I didn't realize they had changed the name either. I wonder if this is common among other schools with Crusaders as their mascot.
