Cal is still Cal. He doesn’t win like he once did but for some reason guards buy into his crap more than any other college coach. He constantly overhauls his roster and has guys leave yet he still gets recruits that want to play for him. It’s truly incredible. I get it UK shells out $$$ but it’s still crazy.

There are leaks. Guys do talk. The IU staff was hopeful until today.

Something changed Monday and IU guys weren't clued in. It was obvious from UK side they knew wind was blowing in their direction then which Kent Sterling and Andy Wittry got a hold of on Kentucky end.
It appears IU guys were left in dark until tonight and somehow Trilly was not clued in until now either. 
Sterling is always Mr. Positive for IU despite his quirkiness and overbearing love for Dakich. When he said UK I had a feeling it would go their way despite others telling me the opposite. 
This program wasn't living or dying with this recruitment. I have a feeling Woodson will kill it in spring with late recruitments and portal players as he always does and this time he gets to do it with an elite recruit in hand with McNeely. When he nabbed Ware and Mgbako last spring he had no great recruits already and in spring 2024 he will already have one in fold.  

While true you don't want to always have to rely on trying to get recruits in the spring. We only got three guys the last two fall classes. That really needs to change imo.

Not sold on the supposed shift of direction. I think it's a bunch of fluff. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fland announce for IU tomorrow. These interlopers on both sides are just carrying water for themselves. We shall see.

Yeah Cal’s recent results have consistently disappointed their (toxic) fan base and national expectations. Not sure why anyone wants to opt into that, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When Trilly made that tweet about New York Guard(s) having dramatic recruitments, it was pluralized for a reason. That was the night, he knew. And same with his protege Noah.

Also, Cal had just visited Boogie in New York. Woody was about to go and the camp announced no more visits before he came the last time. The signs have been there.

Trilly and Rabby have both shot that down. I love your optimism, but don’t keep your hopes up on this my friend. Dont do that to yourself.

I think most staffs are always hopeful but that's a far cry from being incredibly confident. I think Woodson should just become a full time spring only recruiter. For whatever reason the last two falls have not gone that well.

The concern is we put so much into this one that we were out on other options before this week.  There's not another top end guard like Fland we were in on and can't really count on it happening in Spring; and as has been said this is the kind of talent we need to be stacking.

Given we will have like five spots to fill this spring I really expected us to land at least three guys this fall. Yes he is a five star but it's still only one player.
