Roster is improved this year but also very thin and deficient in suitable backups.  We stepped up, but other teams have stepped up even more. The top is very, very good this year.  We just aren’t there, even if healthy.  We’ve got a punchers chance thank goodness.

I honestly feel like the attitude from Dolson is probably ‘Let’s show some progress this year with a team that has very few seniors. If we can do that, I’ll go hard after the boosters to build a championship-level team next year.’

My understanding is our foreign players can play in the July 15, exhibition game but cannot play in the upcoming trip to Peru.  They can make the trip to Peru and participate in off-the-court activities, participate in practices but cannot play in the actual games.

Question was asked on 247 and the answer from Raby was that they would not be available for purchase.

For those who dork out on details, @eddy4iu posted a seating chart and something stood out.

I think the student section is now quite a bit smaller.  While the students gained the north bleachers this year, the students lost:

- Sideline seats between K and L.  Big loss.

- Part of East side upper part of lower tier (cave)

- Some East and West side balcony seats (the best ones)

Interesting.  IU left these details out when they announced the students were getting the north bleachers.  TBD if this will be noticeable during games.

Edit: also just noticed, the old map is outdated by at least a few seasons. The area above the faculty section in G, H, J has been for general public season ticket holders in recent years.

Green is the reseat for the north bleacher alums being relocated.

Good catch on the old map, I couldn’t find one dated specifically for 2025. Thanks.  I still think the key loss of seats is between K and L.

This is probably posted somewhere and I just missed it, but just in case. It’s pre-Alexis and strikes me as pretty reasonable. I get the burden they’re putting on Burton here as the guy with the ball for a team of all new parts, but to me the x-factor here is pretty clearly Sherrell. They identified him early and paid him a ton. He needs to have the mindset of being the best big on the floor against absolutely everyone and I’m not sure if he’s wired that way. He didn’t look like that kind of kid at Bama, but his conditioning already looks a lot better and that’s a start.

The way Goodman wants to always Discount Indiana peeves me.  Again, no reason Indiana can’t be among the Blue Bloods again (recent history be damned-your only as good as your last coach if resources are appropriate).  We are doing the things to be in that spot.  I mean I guess not Duke, but they to me they are the only ones fully separated from a recruiting perspective as far as getting their pick.  If we continue to spend top 10-20 range and DeVries gets anything rolling we are right there.  Goodman mostly just peeves me in general though.

Considering how pessimistic you usually are about IU, I found this kind of funny. I guess you just don't like Goodman.

I consider myself realistic about IU.  And Frustrated for sure regarding basketball.  I’ve had different discrepancies through the years.  In the past I hated the administration and they way they treated sports. We have them to thank for nearly 20 years of bad results.  That annoyed me year after year and each coaching hire brought a renewed sense of hope. The Crean good years really brought the hope alive. 
 

The current administration is great and wants to win. I think we are doing ‘most’ the things necessary to win. We still aren’t top spenders for basketball but I think we are putting ourselves in an elite group.  
 

My thing more is Goodman has treated Indiana sports horribly despite having a connection. Instead of trying to uplift them he’s does the opposite.  Resources are #1.   And if Indiana chooses to put their resources into basketball there is no reason why we can’t reclaim Blueblood status.   All it takes is for a staff to start winning with top resources and you are there.  And if he simply said that versus acting like there is no chance for Indiana to be at that level I’d be fine with it.

Yeah Goodman’s a tool - sometimes in the Dakich mold. DeVries, staff, and administration can prove him wrong (past comments) — think it starts this season. Time to step up and on the necks of the tools 

Also in fairness I thought this was a fair broadcast, agree with a lot of what Goodman said here. Not sure about the 7th man comment— Sisley will need to have that real frosh to soph jump and we haven’t seen it yet. Tend to think Moody might turn into that guy, doesn’t play like a frosh, confident and skilled and has fight in him.

Ol' Chinzy's been a clickbaiter for so long now its easy to ignore. But we've only had 3-4 'IU' years since the '02 run so its easy to doubt what we can do until its actually done.
