Best of luck to him!  Regardless of the way things ended up he gave us one of the best seasons and also a play we will all remember forever.

Unfortunate ending to a really promising career. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer guy to lead the program for the time he was able to. Hope he makes another program extremely happy to take a chance.

If he can stay healthy, he could have a good year for someone. Will be curious as to where he ends up.

I think that could be a clear indication that Allen has his new OC and that MP wasn't going to be his 'guy'.  Tough kid.  Doubt he'll end up as a starter in a top 30 program.  Likely to metriculate back home to somewhere like a USF.

I don't know what exactly went wrong with the program this season, but a reset is probably in order. Hope he finds something that fits and has a great, healthy year. We need to move on with new players and a new direction.

TBH, I think Tom Brew is kind of a doofus -- but he did talk to Penix (he did a NIL podcast with him and McFadden this past fall). 

"I talked to Coach (Tom) Allen about it, and it's my decision,'' Penix said Sunday during a telephone interview. "Look, I'm a Hoosier, and I'll always be a Hoosier. I'm graduating in May and I have loved everything about playing for Coach Allen and being a part of this team. These are my brothers.

"But I just want a new start, a new beginning. I want to finish my college career the best way possible, and I think I need to do that somewhere else.''

Me too, completely wish him the best. There's just no way we could let him take first team reps this year and risk a repeat of last year, but hopefully he can be fully healthy for the whole year next year and have a great year.
