Purdue is so clearly the best team in the Big Ten.  And right now there bench unit of Trevion Williams, Mason Gillis, Brandon Newman, Eric Hunter, and Ethan Morton is better than a few starting Big Ten units.

It's scary. I just hope they are peaking now and cool off in February.

Look at the Villanova game. They can’t guard the 3. They’ll get upset in the tourney. May win the big ten though.

Both these guys were great. Kind of sucks to squander a great night by those two

they both had dumb turnovers too

Yes and yes but I’m feeling better about them being the perimeter threats we have been lacking for 4 years.

Tonight was just tough. Hurts to lose like that but to be honest as bad as that first half was we deserve it. Now they got to bring the fight hard or things could spiral out of control

IMO, you sound shellshocked from things that transpired prior to this year.  Worried about things spiraling out of control after a road double overtime loss?

To me, this team is better than last years by a considerable margin. We have a 3 PT game now and are improving at the free throw line. Some of the turnovers are a result of guys just not having enough time playing together. That will improve. The fight that they showed in coming back over and over was a welcome sight to see. Keep that kind of effort up and we will win our share.

I hate to say it but it’s time to move on from Phinsee. Give Lander the minutes

I disagree.  I want Lander to get some minutes but when Rob was in he was getting the ball to Race and TJD where they could immediately do something with it.  He had a couple bad fouls and got beat once but I thought his defense was pretty good and he made their guards look uncomfortable.  I like Lander.  He hit a big 3 but also got beat and had some turnovers.  I also thought he missed TJD a couple times when Rob was finding him.

I agree. If this game is what gets the team to bring energy and concentration for 40 min., I'm good with this type of loss. The next two are huge. Desperately wanting a win in Madison...

Unlike with Miller, we have the right guys shooting them.

Tonight, we were 11-27 from deep....12 from Stewart, 9 from Kopp, 4 from Bates, 1 from Lander, 1 from Phinissee.  X doesn't have great form but is selective when he shoots his and Race has been taking fewer threes as the season progressed.

Yes but we have alot of the same problems and alot of the same players on roster. Hell yes I am shell-shocked and I will be until proven otherwise I guess.

What TOs were a result of them not playing together?

TJD had a couple boneheaded plays that had nothing to do with passing.
Race got himself cornered several times and was tossing it all around.
There were a few charges that has nothing to do with playing with others.

We’ve been turning it over because we lacked concentration. That’s been the case the last few years and needs to be addressed.

Our starting 4 & 5 committed half of turnovers! I like our rebounding and assist #'s.

We may not be a great team, but these guys are going to be tough to beat towards the end of the season. Love the fight and LOVE this coaching staff! IU basketball is going to be fun again!

I thought, at the time they occurred, that some passes to the interior were not completely expected or the timing was off. Other times seemed an attempt to make a play that wasn't there. More time together should improve that. Just the way I saw it, nothing more.

I don’t want to single one person out for TOs b/c there were plenty bad ones to go around, but Race’s stood out the most to me. Just some really lazy passes and waiting for a double team to come too much. His final stat line looked solid but he seemed pretty terrible to me for the first 30 minutes. And thinking back at his 2 missed bunnies that I thought wouldn’t matter at all….oh my.

The most incredible stat of the night to me is that Jim Boehiem still has kids in college.  The guy has to be in his upper 70s.

He's 77.

Divorced his first wife and remarried someone significantly younger -- hence the younger boys.

His second wife is 55 (ie she was roughly in her early 30’s when the kids were born)
