(2024) PF - Derik Queen to Maryland

I'm applying way too much logic here: Long recruiting trail between Houston, IU and Maryland. Fast forward to this week:

Queen nearing a decision. Woody visits. Queen sets announcement date. Houston is out. Maryland still has to visit but that was pre-scheduled. He has made his mind up, hence the announcement date. If he set his announcement date right after a Maryland coach/recruiting visit, we'd be in panic mode. Maryland is in hail mary territory here. He's ours and you can hang this post up on your bathroom walls to read anytime you want at a later date once he commits.

That's pretty interesting. To me that implies that Baltimore has some tough circumstances and influences that he may want to consider staying away from.

Eric from Hysterics (regardless of your opinion of him, he is connected) posted on Peegs to not expect any type of announcement from DQ on Friday. He did say things can change between now and then, but as of now, to not expect an announcement of any kind.

There are three Montverde players who will commit before November 8th (Flagg, Newell, Queen).

The school will want to give each their moment and will probably spread them out a bit.
