Bring home Josh Pasternak.   Kidding of course but if you want a former IU guy might as  well go with the former manager that has his team dancing this year

Oats, paraphrased: “how we shoot on 3s should determine the margin of our win, not whether we win.” (And they shoot lots of threes.) love that.

I love everything about Oats. I know some think he hasn't proven enough. Not only do they play modern basketball on offense, they have the number one defense on Kenpom. He's extremely fiery on the sidelines and his personality would shine here. If we can't get Brad, I'd be ecstatic to get Oats. I think I've watched 75% of Bama's games this year just because they're so fun to watch. Sometimes you just get a feeling with coaches and I get that with him.

Yeah he’s top-tier for me. He just got extended and we probably couldn’t outbid Alabama if he wanted to stay.

Also, a senior he inherited that was the 148 recruit won SEC POY. But sure the issue is that Archie needs more time

Lol—I know ...right?

I’ll be rooting for IU no matter what, but something about Drew bothers me.

I'm with you on that -- just don't care for him. ... I obviously have no clue what Dolson thinks, but it just doesn't seem as if he'd hire a guy like Drew. I've been wrong many, many times, though.

I’m waiting for the poster to just say “yes” to every single candidate! Thought it would be Josh  :)

Ha, I was certainly tempted.  Honestly, I don't have one that I hate yet like I did last search.  I guess Alford would be closest

Donovan....yes
Beard....yes
Musselman...yes
Pearl...no — can obviously coach but no sanctions, please
Matta...yes — if he’s healthy I think this is an interesting option
Alford.... no
Stuhoo’s Gates....yes
Beilein..... yes (but I’d do some digging on how recruiting might go and how he’d be received by the current team. he made a mistake in what he said but I doubt anyone thinks it’s reflective of his deepest held convictions)
Fife...yes
Enfield.....yes
Wes Miller...yes though I’m less convinced he’s a can’t-miss P5 winner than some

I think Fife would be the most ultimate settling hire imaginable.  I think he needs at least 5 years as the head man someplace bigger than IPFW before he sniffs a job at a school the size of Indiana with its expectations.  It’s an unimaginable leap.

Agreed.  And Alford has a low ceiling.  Those two are bad hires, but still miles ahead of Archie

I’d support Fife, like I would anyone for a few years. But I agree, the next coach needs Power 5 coaching experience. Fife should go get the Minnesota job or one like it for his first P5 gig.
