I think the people that probably care are the ones that will be held accountable if something goes wrong. Listen, I'd be thrilled with Beard or Wade..more so Wade. I think it would be easier to get past all of the perceptions with his rather than Beard. So I'm with you, Wade is a coach I'd gladly take over McCollum.

Except nobody cares. North Carolina cheated like crazy and nobody cared. Sean Miller paid players and nobody cared. Pitino hired cookers nobody cared. But they are suddenly going to care iu if hires someone not pure as the driven snow?

Is St. Johns an embarrassment? Houston?

That's for those university communities to decide. I care about Indiana University. I don't know if Sampson changed after Indiana or not and have no dug into it, but while he was here the team culture was a detriment to Indiana University and its community. As far as Chris Beard is concerned, I don't believe he has changed at all.

I just think the odds of something going wrong are a lot higher if they hire a Brownell vs a Wade or Beard.  The fans are absolutely done with this administration.  Really never seen anything like it.

they thrive on negativity.. Because if the team does well they wont show their faces here..

They only show when **** hits the fan

And in other areas of life they are first in line to be a victim while singing "poor me!"

Lol. Did anyone listen to the Curry Hicks podcast segment on Beard a week or so ago? He had Texas managers saying that Beard had gotten into altercations with his former fiance before at a team hotel in front of staff and players. Again this is not just a one-time thing.

Did not hear about those anecdotes, but that is very concerning. Anyone who is familiar with the legal system knows that victims of DV do not always cooperate with the prosecution. The charges were dropped, but that is NOT the same as going to trial and being found "not guilty". The details of the encounter are public information. There were visible bite marks, bruises, cuts on his fiance. This is coming from an arrest affidavit, not internet rumors. I for one do not think the university is going to take the risk. If we hired Beard, and he did something like that again, the blow back would be unimaginable.

Collins

I think you guys sell him a little short. Best coach ever at NW. consider that McCollum couldn’t have won at NW this year like he did at Drake because he wouldn’t have been able to get all his kids into NW.

There’s probably about as good of a chance that he comes here and builds IU into a powerhouse as McCollum, imo.  Collins was K’s right hand man forever. Was a good recruiter. Is a midwestern guy who would probably recruit the hell out of Indiana, IL, Ohio and Michigan like Knight used to.

Of course, the downside for both would be pretty much where we’re at: mediocrity or worse.

I think he's a better coach than Cronin.
