I really thought adding the comment about Dolson blocking himself from googling "who should I hire" would have been a dead giveaway of the absurdity of my post.

Obviously Dolson has been doing something!

We slow, sorry! lol

Just for kicks.....

....of the current coaches officially in the NCAA tournament, who could be considered a (realistic) grandslam HR coach for IU?

Realistic?

Beard is probably that grand slam. I just don’t think Indiana can hire him with his history however..

However, I wonder if Pearl would consider coming home to Indiana.

Sean Miller - "winning with NIL, before it was known as NIL"

I think he would have been interesting once upon a time but after the Archie debacle and Seans "issues" with the NCAA, I doubt its realistic for this search

Not quite Breaking Bad set in the desert, but I’ll give you credit for a classic. IU’s AD has the IT department prevent him from asking Google who he should hire because A) that’s how he really wants to conduct the search, and B) he just can’t control himself

I mean, it's 2025. I'm disappointed he didn't ask the IT dept to block him from ChatGPT and OpenAI. LOL

Well since we probably don't get anything today (according to Jerry) my question is how many of our players announce today their intention of entering the transfer portal.

my guess is the AD is going to let the guys enter / announce they are going into the portal with the idea they will have a coach in place and able to meet with them and discuss possibility of withdraw (If the coach / player wants that) before they would be able to commit.

Though I think a vast majority of guys on the roster are gone and probably already know where they are going.

Portal opens 1 week from today. Can they even enter until then?

True.  There's no one I can't see looking to leave for one reson or another.  The combination of building a mercenary roster and having a lousy coach doesn't promte roster stability.

They can announce their intentions on entering . Many have already done so, also this is the wild west now-a-days many of them have agents that can talk with other schools before they get busy with the tournament so they can hit the ground running when that team is eliminated / the portal officially opens.

But also not sure of Woodson's Official last day on the job and if that applies to the "fired/resigned coaching rule" That allows players of that school to enter the portal early. like UVA and Miami players did

There is no real equivalent to Shams in college basketball so it’s hard to understand his role unless you follow the NBA. He (and before him, a guy named Woj) broke every major NBA story. Like, every single one. NBA fans don’t believe something is true until Shams says it. He’s not like a Goodman type—if Shams says it’s someone, it’s a done deal.

If it’s going to be an NBA guy, Shams will be the source. When people wonder why stuff hasn’t leaked from the Celtics side, they’re talking about Shams.

(Side note: Woj retired to become the GM at St. Bonaventure, where he’s an alum.)

Agree....to me you need those high school kids who WANTED to come to your program from day one to be your anchors....anchor the team to the university, to the community, etc...to be bridges to those portal players (MERCS) who come in just for the dough. Just my opinion
