Dolson isn’t going to be able to pull the “no big names wanted the job” card this time around. Not with Beard and (apparently) Wade pining for the job. You’ve got Beard wearing a shirt with a Bob Knight quote on it during his press conference.. An underwhelming hire is going to put the heat on immediately. “Sorry, I know Will Wade wanted the job, but you better be happy with Brad Brownell” just isn’t going to cut it.

Just hire beard and let’s win for the next 20 years. Idk what’s so hard about this. Indiana has to act like it’s better than everybody else and that’s why we have sucked this whole century

It's also thought by some that McDermott would take the job but there hasn't really been contact between IU and him/his agent.

I really don't know if Indiana is gonna go with a guy with his history, that also includes Wade.

And that’s why we have been irrelevant. Most coaches have baggage but other schools don’t seem to mind. But for some reason Indiana wants to hire a preacher instead of a ball coach

Kentucky and Louisville both passed on him less than 12 months ago... so... that ain't nothing.

When two schools with questionable history passed on guys like Beard and Wade last year, it tells me something. Neither are coming here. Period.

The Field of 68 bracket (Goodman's site) has IU playing Xavier in Dayton with the winner playing Clemson lol. Could you imagine us playing Brownell if he was still a rumored candidate. I'd be praying that Woody coached the game of his life in that one.

Wouldn’t Wade’s show cause have been a bigger deal last cycle than this cycle? Could be a reason why neither hired him then. I agree neither is coming here, which is why we’ll likely be right back here 3-4 years from now.

They didn't pass they just didn't hire him. There's a difference.

Izzo covered up sexual assault, bo Ryan was banging a young Wisconsin university employee, pitino hired hookers and had tons of other problems, pearl, self,  and coach cal got in trouble for recruiting violations. But god forbid Indiana hire a coach that isn’t a saint

I watched Ole Miss yesterday and they struggled getting to 50. It was like watching paint dry.

Wade knowingly and intentionally broke the NCAA rules. When he got caught, he compounded the problem by lying. This last part is what earned him the show cause, just like Sampson. It really makes one question his morals and ability to make ethical decisions. Yes, what he did is now allowed but what's to say he won't break some other rule which he deems inconvenient?

I wouldn't have a problem with it if IU were to hire him but I can totally understand why they won't.
