That’s what I heard — he is a candidate and he is telling some people, which Goodman picked up.  Definitely too early to call anything though because, as we know, Scott isn’t saying anything to anyone.

If it is McCollum, it wouldn’t be announced until their season is over.  They play next week in tournament IU won’t be in

Meaning like formally announced? I wouldn't expect an announcement if it were him until after Thursday or Friday. Assuming they lose in 1st rd. Who knows though the landscape is changing in CBB.

Clearly he’s a solid hire, but an older coach in football is different than in basketball.

Football is more like the CEO of a large organization—the coordinators largely run practice. In basketball the coach is actively participating in practice and teaching.

That’s not to say that an older guy can’t be excellent (some clearly are) but there is more potential for an older guy to wear down physically and with their motivation as they get into their 60’s. That downward trend of the will to grind hard can happen.

IUFB and Iubb should be in completely different realms. Guess not.  IUFB need to prove its not one of the worst programs.  Iubb is trying to prove it can be one of the best.  Different starting points should mean something.

I think the bolded part sums it up really well. IUBB needs to prove it’s not one of the worst programs now too. Been a bad 9 years. Much longer than that really.

No.  It shouldn't in terms of a coaches age.

I get that but the resources since NILmatch us up with other elites. Before NIL we were a handcuffed program. That should be an easy Dolson sell.
