This is Scott and Scott alone. I'm sure he will talk with some close to him but he's making the final decision. We have plenty of money to spend but we're not going 10 million or above for any of the other coaches not named Brad. Also, one donor's big money is only for Brad.

People have been saying that so that is why people have heard it. I had a friend who went to a donors gathering before the Purdue game at Cook Hall and they were telling people that Scott had his guy but wouldn't name names. So don't know if their just saying that or what. I can't imagine Scott has told very many people if he does have his guy.

A guy on the Rivals board says Whitten nixed Dolson from hiring Beard.  I highly doubt Dolson can hire whoever he wants.

It's pretty interesting how there are varying levels of $ (both for coach/staff and NIL) depending on the coach.  With donors, their $ is always a voice in the process to some extent.  It may make Scott's job a little trickier if we have to go down the list from Brad.

If it is someone on the fence who is questionable like Beard he would need her approval like when he wanted to move forward with Pat Fitzgerald and she said no

I don’t have enough money to think about how I would donate in a coaching search but I don’t get the “only for Brad” thought. Now, maybe I’d give more for Brad. But if I’m willing to donate big money, I’d be willing to donate for several other coaches to turn this ship around instead of an all or nothing approach. Maybe I’m reading too much into this, though. But when my best donation is a Laurel and Hearty handshake, they just pat me on the head and make sure I don’t eat clay.

Maybe he will be still donating something but not like he would if it were Brad.
