If you’ve been around for the last couple coaching searches you should know not to believe much of what is posted on here until you start to see in media outlets too. The BS rumors that have been posted here over the years are completely false according to a star player on the Butler FF runs who is still well connected to Stevens.

So don't believe what you just posted? I haven't seen it in any media outlets anywhere.

I will enjoy reading the rumors and conversation here but truthfully have no idea who the coach will be until it’s officially announced. Hopefully it’s at least by the time the portal opens on March 24. The sooner the better obviously. Curious to see how they build their staff.

Yeah, people getting their hopes up on Stevens is why Woodson was a disappointing hire not the fact no one else wanted him.

I hated the Woodson hire regardless of who we thought we were gonna get

Cronin is a good but unsexy choice.  There are quite a few guys I would prefer.

Agreed. He is good. But he doesn't win enough to justify his antics, and the fact he wins a lot and UC and UCLA still just want him to go away is proof we'd just do the same.

Hire a coach the can actually produce multiple winning conference records in a row and compete for your conference championships and then start competing for National titles

The incoming head coach has these conference records to improve on

7-11

9-9

8-12

9-11

7-12

9-11

12-8

10-10

5-8

Won’t take much to pump some juice in this fanbase

Wow, that’s crappy

Cronin hasn't been below .500 in conference since 2009-10.  I'm not going to be upset if he ends up being the coach but there are other guys I like as well or better.

People should prepare to be disappointed. The only legitimately good coach we've hired in the last quarter century was Sampson, and each one since has been progressively worse.

Indiana has shown complete and utter incompetence at hiring basketball coaches, there's no reason to believe they'll get it right this time. It's kind of impressive how awful they've been at hiring, you'd almost have to try to be that bad.

Don’t know who will end up being hired, and realize Dolson didn’t hire all, BUT seems they’ve not done bad in other sports besides men’s bb: football, soccer, women’s bb, baseball, swimming/diving, volleyball. No doubt men’s bb been terrible but willing to give Dolson benefit of doubt and a mulligan on Woodson due to possible political interference.

Definitely others guys better however if he is your floor then IU will be just fine even if they don’t win that press conference

And don't forget, Dolson will likely "leak" stories to send people on wild goose chases thinking they know something.

I don’t see any reason why Stevens cannot come out and say he has interest in the Indiana job, since he isn’t, I am losing interest in him as a possibility. Why should Indiana beg him to be their coach, we need a coach that not only has a winning track record but that really wants to be here! I am quite frankly a little sick of Stevens and his playing hard to get routine when he knows he has no intention of coming here!

That doesn't make sense because Cronin's style is the same as the big ten brand

Just relaying info from an immediate family member to Mick. Take it or leave it. I grew up and live in Cincy. He was happy to join the PAC12 where he thought he could assert himself and consistently win. That’s not the case in the B1G. Much better conference top to bottom with no off nights. If he leaves UCLA, which he isn’t, it wouldn’t be for a B1 G school.

We shouldn't. The pitch should be easy and quick this time.

Brad - this is your last chance to come home and be the head coach at IU. Yes or no.

I have a feeling Scott knows his answer already if everything the insiders say is even remotely true.

He gets a raise every time IU needs a coach. Works out great for him.

Because there's no reason for him to do so. He hasn't been asked publicly about the job since last April, as far as I can tell. Until the waiver deadline of March 1st, he's still got a job to do in Boston.

Plus I don't think IU wants to announce anything yet...this is already enough of a clown show.

My guess is that if it's Brad, you hear something shortly after IU's season concludes.

If the first weekend of the NCAA tournament begins and we still don't have a coach, that likely means it's someone still actively coaching.

Either way, it's going to be a long wait.
