For the introductory press conference? Sure.

But when we start consistently winning with someone else? 100% yes. That will unite the fanbase too.

Beard won’t unite this base.  He will further divide it.  Remember when UT hired Schiano and had to back out of it.  Similar stuff will happen.  People pushing for him most likely never attended IU-Bloomington and the Bloomington part matters.  They don’t understand the dynamics here and how people will take it.  I will pull my donations and most likely my firm will as well.  One partner to me the other day.  Hiring someone like Beard will make me done with that place.

Dolson hiring Beard, of course assuming the other higher end guys said no, would atleast signify that he wants to win and is refusing to bow to social pressures.  Hire a coach to coach basketball.

There will be social pressure and money pressure.  You haven’t seen crap yet.  Bloomington is a different beast than the rest of Southern Indiana and this won’t fly.

But let’s honestly look at his record it’s only slightly better. Barely gets 20 wins at ole Miss. His offense is not much better than Woodson. But he likes Bobby

That won’t either.  You have to understand the culture of this place.  You have to understand what the base.  I don’t think Brownell would be a bad hire for this place.  He is a very good basketball coach.  He isn’t sexy.   Neither is McCollum and others but I think they are a better fit for here.

Dude I listened to that podcast and all I heard at the end were people who probably have never set foot in Bloomington.  It’s the worst of the worst of this fanbase.  I will just leave it at that.
