General Coach Candidate News

Recommended Posts

Seems like we’ve got three main categories here:

(1) good coaches who’d take the job but IU won’t hire

(2) good coaches who don’t want the job

(3) unproven or underwhelming coaches

We end up at 3 because the guys in 1 are all passed over. It's why we do this over every 4 years.

Blind resume. Experience, won in major conferences, multiple S16's. Seems like a formidable candidate

We must have different definitions of winning in major conferences. I see meh in the Big East following by mostly failing in the B1G and SEC.

Definitely don't need TC.

To be fair I thought what you were saying day 1 was a little outlandish and that's coming from a Brad believer lol

It's all in good fun. I'm just messing around and hopefully bringing some laughs to the board. I'm just a regular guy like the rest of us, and can laugh at myself with the best of 'em. Pay attention to the real insiders here...and I'm starting to feel like that includes our friend @Tony! Toni! Toné!. Talk about a sly devil...

100% will own it. If it's not Brad, will I be pretty shocked. Absolutely! Will I care about any negative backlash from the negative nancys who just want to be miserable and have something to complain about? Absolutely not. Will still continue to share anything I hear, and like all of us, will wish the new coach the best of luck. Buuuuuuuut, as I said on 2/21, the leaks would start occurring tomorrow. Sounds like I was a day off, should've said 9 business days haha

What leaks?  Do you mean pictures of the undertaker?

I’m not saying they would fire him, but Cronin doesn’t have any leverage to get more money or change the terms with UCLA. His options are either honor the current contract or find a new job.

He absolutely has leverage. The contract stipulations he signed 3 years ago have either a) drastically changed or b) no longer exist.

I was thinking the same thing, although when I think of leaks, I’m looking at national Media.

I haven’t heard any from either l, then again I must still be in the wrong spot

Unless he specially has language about conference affiliation I highly, highly, highly doubt that anything has changed.

It completely depends on the terms of his contract.

His contract is publicly available. As obviously assumed, the language is “PAC-12 Conference (and any successor conference)”
