Not sure if hiring a guy who insists that "The points don't matter" is the right way to go.

Seems odd the UT folks would have the scoop before IU or Baylor...

On the one hand, yes… on the other, presumably Baylor and IU both would have an interest in keeping things quiet for now. And it has been, it seems. With the way Texas politicking/networking happens, I could see people at UT being first to really talk about it more openly. Though from what I gather it’s just more of the same message board chatter we have… just from a more objective perspective probably

Question for anyone who pays attention to trillyanon: when’s the last time he accurately dropped something IU related before anyone else? It seems like everything that leaks off that paid site is just regurgitated from insiders here and elsewhere. It would be awesome if Drew was the guy, but it’s also not exactly being Miss Cleo to think a “done deal” would only probably involve like three candidates with Dusty off the board. Stevens, Drew, or Beard, imo. Otherwise, there’s no telling where the search goes if it’s not actually a done deal.

Texas folks perhaps want to see a rival lose their coach and they're hoping it's true?

It seems like more names are flying around now.  Gotta say it's so entertaining.

Probably hoping Scott Drew leaves Baylor for good, although a great choice

I really want to believe the Brad Stevens stuff. I am, by no means connected, but I do know there are people that give a lot of money to IU and are connected that believe Brad Stevens to IU is a done deal. They have not waivered. My biggest reason for not being able to be "all in" on belief is that all of this stuff comes from the IU side of things. It's either IU donors or sources or insiders or whatever you want to call it. I understand no legitimate journalist can publish anything but there has been no information coming from the NBA side or the Boston side. As far as I know, not a single insider/source from that side of things has come out and given any credence whatsoever to "Brad to IU" being a done deal or real or even considered. Why would that be the case? If there were actually a signed deal or a verbal agreement, if it was that far along, why would nothing come from the NBA side or the Boston side? I'm not saying the posters like RTZ or Chris or JerryYeagley23 or any others are wrong but I'd love to hear opinions on why I'm just being too pessimistic.
I fell for it last time. Not falling for it again.

Two of those guys are still coaching... so... take it with a grain of salt...

My understanding is that due to his position as President of basketball operations, the only person BS reports to is the owner. I can see it as being possible that he has told his boss, and he is keeping the secret. Other than that, lawyers and agents have legal reasons to be quiet. So it is possible for the leaks to only come from the IU side, where more people are involved.

Exactly.  The Celtics are paying Brad $11M a year.  If he already had a foot out the door someone would know something and something would’ve leaked well before now.  He’s not staying in that position and taking that kind of money if he had already agreed in principle to take the Indiana job.  Just no way.
