You’re adding up pretty much nothing in terms of decisions Scott has been allowed to make for bball.  He wanted to get rid of Woody last year, that was a good call.  Overruled though.

And you’re just going to ignore football?

He definitely nailed the football hire!

IMO, this search has, and will continue to, involve multiple smokescreens/misdirections/obfuscations - effectively, I might add.  We don't know if the BS info was B.S..  No "insider" is going to get the skinny from Dolson himself, so the chain of info could be corrupted anywhere.

In the words of Ruth from Ozark: "I don't know sh*t about f*ck".

Two guys on your list that I would love as well but the reception for one of them has not been warm here so I kept my mouth shut but I think Chris beard is a slam dunk. Dude wins everywhere he goes including ole miss. I don’t even think ole miss fans know they have a basketball team.

the other is pitino. What he’s doing at at Johns is impressive.

Yeah I just check. Drake is 61st in KenPom. I was expecting better after that endorsement from truthhurts.

Sunday is the day for McCollum people.   Drake/Bradley play and it will be game of the day.  2 of the best teams in the Valley

They lost their six best players. It’s essentially an entirely different team. And he’s 61st in efficiency. At drake. A program with four tournament appearances in the last like 30 years.

Drake is a really good basketball program in the Valley.  Probably the top job in the conference

DeVries had 6 straight 20+ win seasons before he left for West Virginia and 3 ncaa tourney appearances.

If Pitino was 10 years younger he’d be a no brainer.  But not now would be ridiculous.

I trust Scott and hope he has the full reigns but none of this makes sense.

To pushing Woody out midseason, JerryYeagley confidently saying Scott has his man from the very beginning and sticking to it, to Trilly confirming Scott spoke with AAU coaches yesterday and mentioned a non-college coach as his priority, to today. Doesn't make sense.

Media is now talking with AAU coaches and that call didn’t happen.  Bad info from Trilly.

In general I agree the the picture we have right now is vague.

Sounds like Tom Crean or Billy Donovan maybe the primary candidates, lol

It's Drake for F&*@$ sake! With D2 players for the most part!

Be honest I don't care about reception. I am concerned with winning at a high level. I firmly believe if we were winning and he stays out of trouble we would be good

I mean 3 out of the last 4 years making the tourney. I understand but McCollum is not the slam dunk people are making him out to be

The only slam dunk hire IU has made in the last 130 years was the second time Branch McCracken was our coach. No one is saying McCollum is a slam dunk, but I think he’s a unique coaching talent within the “up and comer” crowd of the last 10 years. And it sounds like folks’ biggest concern is his ability to handle the stage, not his basketball acumen…

I want the best coach, and I have yet to see anything indicating he shouldn’t have that argument made in his favor. He runs a very efficient offense and his teams grind on defense. Will he start landing Cooper Flaggs with that type of play? Maybe not, but he will bring in talent here and also make the most out of the players who will actually stay 2-4 years and who are the types of players that win championships for other programs, yet our previous coaches cause to plateau in year two…(e.g., Robert Johnson, Armann Franklin type players)

Unless it’s another miscalculation from Dolson.  Happened last time, allegedly. Other possibility is Dolson rounding up money, getting approval, telling people “I think we can get him”, “we’re flying to meet & give him an offer”, etc. & by the time it makes it to folks like JY, Chris, RTZ etc, it’s morphed into “all but a done deal”.

Holding out hope for Brad?

Brother, I’ve had a blast sh!tposting on here for Brad the last few days. It was always a long shot. Everyone knew that. Being gleeful that people who got their hopes up and are disappointed is weird - this is a message board for fanatics who are gonna have all sorts of opinions / hopes you find silly. The discourse on this message board is completely meaningless. I’m glad we can all move onto discussing real candidates now. Sorry you guys had to put up with people being slightly hopeful even if naive for a few days lol.

Couldn’t agree more. Winning fixes everything. If beard would come in and restore the program, which I think he would, many fans would forget about his past quickly.
