Similar to May, although I like May more. would definitely try to bring a guard heavy offense. They aren’t so great this year with some good players. Idk. Sorry, but I need clarification on exactly how Drew is similar to May? thebigweave 1

I'd take Few over Dusty every day. I don’t either, that’s why I mentioned the long shots. If we are talking top-20 head coach money across any sport college or pro even Oats or Wright might raise an eyebrow. There are not many coaches in sports making 8 figures, seems like Stevens being the only option for that if we can afford it is selling it short. If we are willing to offer Stevens 100 Million it seems like we should also be prepared to offer it to the likely no votes. Just a thought.

I think their ceiling at Indiana is similar. I think May could continue to Peak. I think Drew has shown he can win at a high level. For me, they are on the same tier although I can understand why others feel Drew is the better choice. lillurk 1

TrueHoosier62 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 The one coach no one is talking about, and who could really take IU to the next level is Norman Dale. I have no doubt that our offense and defense would be vastly improved. P92, Hoosierfan1901 and kottke 3

WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Galen Clavio did a videos suggesting Matt Painter. I don’t hate it at all. lol. It would never happen but wouldn’t that be the Coup de Grace? Guy is a tremendous coach but I’m not sure the increased NIL would actually help him. Might hurt him, if he goes away from getting the type of guys he gets. To me, he’s a top 3 coach dollar for dollar. J34, VO5, tkbbn and 3 others 6

lillurk Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I really thought Painter was a strong candidate for UK last cycle. Seems they’ll be pleased with Pope but it made sense at UK for all the reasons Galen lays out that it would at IU, without the complications of leaving your alma mater for a rival.
hoosierbannerd Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hoping for the white whale. But if it would be Dusty, would IU have looked at him without IU ties? What other programs were looking at him before he chose Michigan? Currently, I have this lukewarm feeling about him and that may be unfair... Josh and tkbbn 2
