Have you seen them when they attempt to run? We'll need to place some barriers around the floor so we don't get sued when one of the players chucks it off a fans noggin. I'm not opposed to this team getting out on the break but that's led to easy buckets for the other team when they turn it over at a higher rate. Golfman25 1

Last I checked IU defensive efficiency in B1G games only was 10th out 14. The offense was top 6 Top 4 Big teams have an offense ppg/defense ppg over 10 ppg. (ok OSU at 9.5) IU is at 2.8 - That's basically one bucket. Good for 9th and just above the really crappy teams who are less than 1. They score more points (by possibly avoiding those 10-0 runs), while keeping their defense the same, they win more games.

This is a big endorsement to lose.He said in the article he doesn't engage in that kind of talk very often unless its necessary. He is like alot of posters on here they don't feel its necessary to comment on the negativity even though they are thinking it. JaybobHoosier Posted February 21, 2021 Author Posted February 21, 2021 @ people that defended Archie over the years, even through much of this year, what was it that finally broke the camels back? this isn’t meant as a gotcha at all, I’m just curious how the half that had faith in him all of a sudden lost it. His support from this crowd seems to have vanished in the last 3 weeks or so and I’m just curious why? So I’m one that was never thrilled with this hire, but thought it had potential to be good. In my mind he had 4 years to right the ship, and knew it would take a little time getting everyone on board from a complete 180 philosophy. Here we are, year 4, and we are not better than last year. I would say what really did it for me was the home loss to Purdue, and then this loss to MSU pushed me over the edge with no return. The inconsistency and failure to adapt by Archie are his biggest downfalls. He’s too stubborn for his own good, and there’s no excuse for this team not to be a top 25 team. I’m truly worried about our program with Archie and beyond, scary to think we may never come back to a blue blood or consistent program again. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Just need the right fit it can happen. I am a believer in situational coaching positions what isn't right for one guy can be for another. Look at all great coaches in all sports they have to be in the right place to succeed. We have to find our guy now. I know nobody on here wants alford but he for example I believe could succeed here but hasn't really anywhere else. Not my guy just a example of my thinking. Same as Brad stevens would be a great hire and would be my pick but it isn't a lock for success but I feel it would be a good bet. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk JaybobHoosier 1

I'm not saying Archie should go all-out run game with THIS roster--only that some players (again, especially Lander) seem to really struggle in the sets Archie likes to run, and might be more comfortable with a more up-tempo offense. But IIRC Archie's teams have seldom if ever taken that approach. Edited February 21, 2021 by Magisterium

Hoosierfan2017 Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Fortunately, we get to see very soon how serious our administration is about winning. Unfortunately, the answer to that question is going to be not very. A serious administration would already have Archie’s termination papers drafted and ready to hand to him after our last game. He has failed at every single facet of his job, except for two. He hasn’t done anything to embarrass the university, and his players haven’t either. It seems like those are the two most important things to the IU administration. They’re perfectly content with a mediocre basketball program so long as it makes the school money and it doesn’t embarrass itself. Winning isn’t at the top of any of their agendas, and they laugh at us mere peasants who want it to be. We’re just a bunch of blowhards who need to shut up and be happy about being a perennial bubble team. Anything more would be unreasonable of us to expect. lillurk, OldBuddy67 and jonz44 3

I know several people that quit liking iu when bob was fired. They admitted they were more bob fans than iu. Its not surprising bob and Mike Davis were polar opposite coaches as far as demeanor on sideline goes. When I was a kid alot of people would say they like iu but not bob knight those people were probably happy with davis the other side went and bought texas tech hats lol.
