There is no real equivalent to Shams in college basketball so it’s hard to understand his role unless you follow the NBA. He (and before him, a guy named Woj) broke every major NBA story. Like, every single one. NBA fans don’t believe something is true until Shams says it. He’s not like a Goodman type—if Shams says it’s someone, it’s a done deal. 
 
If it’s going to be an NBA guy, Shams will be the source. When people wonder why stuff hasn’t leaked from the Celtics side, they’re talking about Shams. 
 
(Side note: Woj retired to become the GM at St. Bonaventure, where he’s an alum.)
 

It’s a mix between Trilly and Jon Rothstein. lol.

Now I'm imagining Dr. Brule pronouncing some of the candidate's names (Brawn ole-what’s-eez-name).  Otzelberger would be a disaster.
