I understand if folks are skeptical of the anon rumors on this board or elsewhere.   That's fair.  I am, though I enjoy hoping they're right when they talk up the big hires.

There is a group that is skeptical of the positive rumors (again, fair enough), but then some of them turn around and create quite the negative narrative out of thin air themselves.  It's a free board, so people can do whatever they want, I just don't think we know enough to get negative either.

Waiting stinks, but as of now it's hard to get very positive or very negative.  That's just my view, people may disagree that's cool.

You act like we should be sad about this team leaving. And starting from zero? Huh... Kentucky and Louisville just did it and made the tourney, so why can't we? Not worried about any of that. Get an entirely new team would probably be a good idea.

I hate to break it to you, but Dolson wasn't waiting for Woodson's season to end - he was and is waiting for the tournament to end because he is a stand up guy and believes it is irresponsible to do coaching search while the season is going on. So he's not going to start the search until after the Final Four. 

I've heard from someone in IU's IT department that he asked to update blocked website to include any that discuss coaching candidate and explicitly blocked himself from using Google to search "who should I hire as the next coach at Indiana?"

It's going to be a long month.

I’d say that if there’s no press conference by Wednesday that it’s most likely not Stevens and more than likely McCollom/Huss

I think this is catastrophizing a little bit but not that far off. They’ve probably been talking to candidates agents and pretty far into the process with at least a couple by now. Players may or may not hit the portal en masse. Depending on how good the next coach is at recruiting or bringing a roster with him, not such a big deal…. I do very much agree with the idea it’s a mistake to hold off announcing to protect Woody’s feelings. IMO if an NBA /not currently coaching guy is not announced today, it’s a college coach. So latest should be after the first weekened. Even if their team is still playing, the portal will be open. At that point you’re either committed and we announce this or not. If not… the search will be confirmed botched IMO.
