Is a booster really going to pony that up for Brad Brownell?  I have a hard time believing that.
They did for Woodson which was unreal.

I haven't been one to say "Here's my ordered list of preferred coaches" and so I haven't shared who I prefer or don't. But, I think the biggest danger to IUBB is apathy. The memories of success get further in the past each year. Brad Brownell might be the only coach mentioned who would actually *increase* the level of fan apathy.

I'm guess I could talk myself into it eventually but man, that's tough to get excited about.

Why not ask the same question to the mirror on the wall or a magic 8 ball? It would probably be just as insightful

Again for everyone out there, this is Kathy's insight summed up today by PitV AI:

"You all don't understand, there is a process. We are contacting agents and representatives. There will be a new coach at the end of the season. None of you know that very particular information that I have unique insight on."

Yeah but that one was split. We all universally hate the idea of Brownell as HC lol.
It would also tell me dolson the genius ignored his first 13 years and is only looking at the last two seasons.

This. If Dolson doesn't have his candidate locked up at this point, then HE should be fired.

He had every opportunity in the world to have his choice of candidates due to Woody being axed half-way through the season. There's zero excuse for him not to already have an agreement worked out and ready to sign ASAP the season ends.

It would be absolute professional malpractice if that didn't happen. Period.

So much misunderstanding in one post.

Good question.

Although, wouldn't it be the most IU-thing ever to overpay on a buy-out for a coach like Brownell? LOL

Plus his salary is already around 4m, so we'd probably have to pay around 5-6m annually plus the buyout.

The last 25 years says yes that would be an IU thing to do.

If Brownell wasn’t from Indiana, he wouldn’t even be mentioned. And that’s the part that frustrates me the most. I don’t think he gets it, but I mean just being mentioned is enough to make me cringe.

I think the way his Clemson teams have played the last few seasons are why he's a candidate. That fact that he's from Indiana and has recruiting connections to the state is just a bonus.

That being said, hiring Brad Brownell when Will Wade is readily available isn't wise by any measure.

Yeah, but nepotism was involved. Hopefully we're done with that crap.

Haha. I know my wife does too and she gets on me a lot with my grammar. She even put Grammarly on my computer at work but I guess I don't use it as much as I should. :-)

“Grammarly” is great, even though Spellcheck (ironically) says otherwise.

Another way to look at the timeline: if we don't make the tournament and there's no announcement on Monday, it ain't Brad

I'll add this: if there's no handshake deal with a coach by now, it's malpractice. Scott has had 5 weeks officially for this search (really a year) and portal backchanneling has been happening for months already. Whoever the next coach is will need to have been aware of the job they're stepping into and started evaluating the roster and potential additions.

Because they knew he needed any advantage he could get since we got handcuffed to him another season. Obviously that didn't work out. No one is putting up fat cash for Brownell.
