Can you win a title with him? Sure…he puts together good teams that are athletic and play pressure defense and wear on you for 40 min. But he needs to get lucky in the draw. Teams with good guards who can handle their pressure and/or make it a game off half court offensive execution send him packing every year. And he’s basically been a 1 seed the last four years so you would expect them to make the S16.

They would have given UConn everything they wanted had Shead not gotten hurt in the S16 against Duke last year.

Let’s do this who is everyone’s top 3 picks to get the IU job. The most likely.

Greg McDermott

Shaka

Stevens

ole-what’s-eez-name

McCollum

Turgeon

I’m a pessimist.

I had a great conversation with someone last night.

I'm going

Stevens, Self, Few, Donovan. But mostly just the first one

That's a hell of a list.  I'm still going to temper my expectations and am expecting a mid major guy.  Appreciate all your info though.

So here's a question; is Self slowing down? How would we feel about Bill Self? Call me crazy, but I'm leery of him compared to the others on that list. Confident in Few, but IU would be a much bigger job than he's used to doing.

Think Stevens and Donovan would be obvious home runs.

I see absolutely ZERO incentive for Bill Self to ever coach again once his time at Kansas is up. Has nothing left to prove and has health issues.

Being a fan of two teams he owns is so incredibly frustrating.  Throw IUBB on top of that and you've got one unhappy sports fan.

I've always thought that if IU was going to get a true whale this cycle, Donovan made the most sense. If he was ready to return to college to finish his career, IU would be the perfect choice.

He probably wants out of Chitown. It's just a matter of whether he wants to return to college. He would seem like a more realistic choice than a guy who has turned IU down multiple times and seems really happy in Boston.

Just a thought...

Blackhawks are in a tank-a-thon, but Bears finally are headed in the right direction (hopefully)

I agree but he’s stated multiple times that he still wants to coach passed this year . Kansas fans are NOT happy they want him out now . many believe that will would be able to go get Nate Oats from Alabama (no idea if that’s true but they believe they can )

If admin desires to nudge him in that direction and he still wants to coach ? IU would be the perfect landing spot . Hed have the resources similar to Kansas and he’s coached in the Big Ten before (it’s a little different ) also too if be easy for him to raise the floor of the program . BUT again the chip on his shoulder might push him for 4-5 more good years . Who knows you are probably right . Better to talk about this than McCollum or Brownell For the next 90 min till tipoff lol
