He was an assistant with Creighton for 6 years. Allegedly he gets alot of credit for helping develop their offensive system.

In those two seasons, he’s been conference coach of the year twice, won conference regular season twice, and has won 80% of his games. Helped design McDermott’s offense at Creighton which people really like, myself included. And he used to coach LaLu, so the in state connections are there presumably.

Flight tracker this morning.

A plane from Bloomington is heading to see Brad Brownell in Clemson, SC.

To be clear I have no idea if it has anything to do with the search but a plane in Bloomington is heading that direction in a couple of hours.

But later today some planes are all meeting up in Miami again. 

Took a very strong anti-McCollum stance for the better part of the afternoon yesterday BUT do want to make it clear there is no candidate I am more against than Brownell (yes that would apply to year 5 of Mike Woodson). I would take the gamble on McCollum over Brownell everyday of the week and twice on Tuesday. 

Brownell is the perfect candidate to represents the vicious cycle of mediocrity and inconsistency of Indiana basketball the last decade. I know Chris said this was a joke. I'm sure Clemson and Brownell are focused on ACC tourney prep. I think we can all agree that MOST fans are not as in-depth on coaches and the search as those of us in here....I think Brownell is going to be a tough sell for the casuals...MCCollum they can at least push his winning ways in D-2 as someone who is a good risk to take....Brownell? Well, hes had a few good years here and there...thats not gonna cut it.

I know it’s not a perfect comparison between Cig and McCollum, but taking two guys from D2 who know how to build winning cultures would inject a lot of energy into IU sports. The main thing a basketball coach has to do is win basketball games and McCollum is very good at that. I trust at a place like IU, with our resources and support, he can figure the rest out. Just because it didn’t work out for other guys here doesn’t mean he can’t. Hand him the keys and let’s ride

Yeah, I’m not sure I get Brownell. I don’t think it’s I’ll be him. But love to hear the reasoning behind him over any number of coaches. As for McCollum, if it’s him, then I'll trust Dolson will provide him with the resources he needs to navigate the portal and NIL. But still think all of this is just speculation.

I have not heard that but I have no reason to not believe RTZ. This week has always been the week to get whatever done. Scott has always wanted everything wrapped up by March 17

When people ask about the why McDermott had more success at Creighton than Iowa State, I think there's a very valid argument that Huss was a huge part of it.
