Ike over Sparks and it isn’t even close. However, I’m guessing it’s a “bird in the hands vs 2 in a bush” scenario going on here.

I’m a tough one to please. I think I’ll have to be convinced on the court.

Shedrick and Sparks seems pretty good. I’ve liked Shedrick better than his numbers indicate.

Shedrick or Kel'el Ware would be sweet. 6-11 and 7-0 at the 5 and athletic. Would be nice to see.

In the transfer portal, coaches likely have to gauge interest in players.  It's been what, less than two weeks since our last game and hundreds of players in the portal.  Touch base with kids to gauge their interest but most already have in mind a few programs they are looking at.....if you aren't in that initial list, you likely are just spinning your wheels instead when time would be better spent on going after players you like and also are already interested in the program.

Sparks is better than I thought he was gonna be coming out of HS but I’m not excited about him.

Emarion Ellis, 6'5" combo guard, Marquette.  Came in as the 86th ranked recruit in 2021.  Only played spot minutes (14 games, 85 minutes) as a freshman.  Had to redshirt last season due to surgery on his patella.

I think Ware would be a good get.  I don't think either would be bad.

I have a very high amount of doubt that Ware is even being considered by the staff. Would definitely be a good get.

 

And I'm on the Caleb Love train the more I think about it. Sure he's a wildcard... But so was Xavier Johnson and Woody has gotten a lot of good out of him and really helped him.

That’s what I was thinking. Love could completely stray away from the way he played at NC with Woodson coaching him up and actually be a valuable team piece for us. Woody wouldn’t let him play like he did at North Carolina, and Caleb could be just fine with that, who knows. It just takes that right leadership to get through to him.

I thought Ware was leaning toward Arkansas.

We'll see about Love. I have the impression he knows where he wants to go before entering the portal.
