PG at Pitt, pretty solid player and a big upgrade over anyone we have right now barring Lander making a huge jump.

He's 6'3" , 200. Plays with serious edge and attitude. Plays angry!

Not a terrible outside shooter but his primary strength is getting to the rim. He's basically the same size as Armaan.

Who is Xavier Johnson? I don’t know much about him

"From the large glass window in his office, he can see the gym where Johnson morphed from an undersized, overlooked 14-year-old into an ACC recruit; the same court where he never lost a sprint, sometimes out-running teammates so badly he would lap them.

It’s an unfamiliar position for him. A player who used disrespect and doubt to propel him to a destination few outside of his family and closest friends thought he could ever arrive at is now there, left to deal with the weight that comes with that perch. The underdog, for lack of a better word, is now the favorite. How he handles that quandary will help determine where his life and career go next.

With two parents in the military, Xavier moved several times growing up, going from Tampa to Fredericksburg to Woodbridge, Va., where his family currently lives. At each stop, he found comfort and community in basketball.

The sport not only offered an outlet for his passion and energy, but it was a way to mature from hard lessons in what Xavier dubs “the beautiful struggle.” On the court, little, if anything, came easily to him. As a small, quick player, he would get pushed around, elbowed coming off screens and have his shots swatted like mosquitos by taller opponents."

Xavier Johnson was long seen as an underdog. Now, he's adjusting to life as the face of a program | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (post-gazette.com)

Is there a window for when these kids in the portal are expected to make a decision? With all that social media stuff, Stewart and Hunter, I'd hope we are the favorites for landing him? Sign me up for a new stud PG added to the mix.

Sounds like Woodson wants an answer on Monday.

Trayce also mentioned Wendell Green Jr who’s a smaller point guard at 5’11 from Eastern Kentucky. He played at La Lu and averaged 15 ppg, 5 assists, and 3.4 rebounds. He also shot 36% from 3 and 76% from the line.

Franklin coming back would be great, but we can replace him in the portal. TJD was the one guy on our team we wouldn't be able to replace. If Armaan doesn't want to be a part of our program then see ya, we'll find someone who does.

I think Stewart would step right in at the 2G and replace him quit well.  I think Woodson wants to have bigger wings so having 2 6'4 wings probably is not what he is looking for.
