I don’t think they should accept either, should they be chosen. That NIT in CTC’s final year was a baaaaaad look. Imagine it this year.

I would accept IF it was under an interim assistant coach.  Nothing can be gained with Archie coaching.

I know we have people in the know saying prepare for archie to be back but I can't see it. I have zero inside info on this but in what world would u get another chance with no past history of success and no future recruiting to point to. You also haven't proven u can use talent that you do get. He is gone i don't care what anyone says

Only one thing makes sense...pap's been compromised.  He has vibes...he's kidnapped in a Pontiac Vibe.  Not gonna be a blast...the only way to save IUBB is to blow something up...Mackey Arena.

It's so simple now

The world in which the powers that be don’t care about wins and losses and just care about saving money. What do they care if we miss another NCAA tournament? Basketball doesn’t really matter to them.

Omg guys, my faith in our program is high right now.  I posted that before I got in the shower where I thought about all the disagreement I would come back to.  Instead that post has one of those heart banner thingies.

In the past that post would have brought the heat.  Now it brings the love.

We're progressing fellas.  We're gonna right this ship.  This sleeping giant is waking up.

We just gotta flush the turd first.

Congrats on that heart banner! Totally agree with you regarding being driven up the wall that recruits must come from an Indiana. That and firing Archie will cause a 4 year rebuild drive me absolutely bonkers.

I don't buy this. Dolson seems like he cares. The BOT consists of eight member, one of whom is Quinn Buckner. Another trustee, James Morris, is vice chairman of Pacers Sports and Entertainment and was previously treasurer of the U.S. Olympic Committee. So 25% of our BOT built their careers with a focus on sports.

McRobbie may not be the biggest basketball fan, but he isn't completely indifferent to IU athletics. In fact, the only time IU has given a flying f*** about our facilities since the early 70s has been during his tenure. Cook Hall, renovating Assembly Hall, two additions to Memorial Stadium, Bart Kaufman Field.

The Fat Aussie hardly knows what a basketball is.

What I also found interesting (because it backs up what I have said in the past...lol) is Hartman saying we would have won 5 more games if we just played hard more consistently. I can’t understand why some still pushback when inconsistent effort is mentioned.

He also mentions how much Buckley helped him with his shot and Leary ran with that saying our guys have not improved and that he can see our shooting flaws from a mile away. They questioned the lack of player development and Leary basically said..who cares if Leal shoots  a ton of shots after games if he is just repeating/practicing a shooting form that has issues. These guys need coaching. Just kind of reinforces what many of us suspected.

Yep, nobody on staff to refine the players' shots.  It shows.

Every one of his issues is solved by wininng.  You want a packed stadium -- Win.  Turning it into a minor league baseball stadium isn't going to do it.  Getting the right coach will.

As for recruiting Indiana kids, nobody says you have to have all Indiana players.  But if you don't dominate your backyard in recruiting, how can you expect to get any interest from outside the state.

Which is weird because Archie shot 43% from 3 and 85% from the line in college. You'd think he would be able to teach them a thing or two about shooting, but I guess not.

Right.  He values free throws, and we can't shoot free thows.  Either teach them yourself, you get someone on staff to do it.  It's just an epic failure on Archie's point and should cost him his job.

I’d always figured he could and should be able to help in this regard.

Re-tooling someone’s shot is a tricky concept. We’ve seen it go horribly wrong.

At some point you have to recruit shooters and build that confidence.

Listen to the interview with Hartman if you haven't.  He tells how Buckley worked with him, no holds barred.  He went from not shooting a three as a freshman to being a top pct. as a soph.  So while they have to have some talent to work with, if they just keep repeating the same techinical errors 10,000 times, they don't get better.  Coaches (who know what they are doing) can be an objective observer and tweak what needs tweaking.  That whole conversation about shooting was interesting.
