I know this is a negativity thread...but I honestly think next years team will be better. The young trio of Hunter, Race, TJD could be pretty compelling on the floor together... Brunk and Smith for depth...Geronimo for energy..new blood at guard- Leal/Galloway. Experience with Rob, Al, Franklin...I know our guards have been pitiful since forever...but all they have to be is decent..ya never know..

Next year is the ride-or-die team. They succeed together or they fall together, and that includes the coaching staff and everyone else involved.

Never understood why anyone looks at this. We gave up 77 points which is what Iowa is averaging in conference play. They have been winning scoring 77 except for when they play another team that is making every shot they chuck

Because giving up 77 points in 77 possession is better than giving up 77 points in 69 possession, which is what the 1.00 and 1.11 difference is about.  The number of possessions that each team gets is going to be the same (or a difference of 1)......so holding a team to 1.00 points per possession instead of 1.11 gave us 8 more possessions to score.

And for the record, I didn't see many shots that were forced by IU.  Green hit a couple of tough ones, but our three point shots were almost all basically catch and shoot.  And don't discount that we had 16 offensive rebounds.

I believed we scored 20 points on fast breaks against Iowa.....should we have intentionally not tried to score quickly on those possessions so that their total points were less?

Yeah; we can’t beat good teams without DeVonte playing well, like when we beat MSU this year and DeVonte had two points and three turnovers. Or when we beat UConn and DeVonte had six points on 2-10 shooting.

Or are you trying to say that we are a far more dangerous team when our current best scorer plays really really well? Cause that’s certainly true.

MSU’s not ranked right now and that game was at home. UConn isn’t even close to a good team. We need either Franklin or Green to play real well against good teams because Phinisee’s usually pretty consistent and our bigs can’t win a game on their own against a solid team.

But I totally agree with your second statement that we are a very dangerous team when Green plays well because we usually don’t just beat teams but dominate like FSU and Iowa.

77 points is still 77 points no matter how you evaluate it and Indiana will not win many games giving up 77 points.

Green went off and that happens like 3 times a year, the rest of the time he buries us - we are fortunate it was a good night for him

How many games is Indiana going to play against a 6'11", 260 pound kid who's a national player of the year candidate who averages 24 ppg, shoots 56% from the floor, and can play inside out?   (64% his last 3 games and had over half his teams points Thursday night)  Asking for a friend.

I've noticed in the "negativity thread," a whole lot gets left out whatever story/narrative is the flavor of the day.

When we played them, MSU was ranked #5 in the country.   Lots of teams have a guy who can blow up.  Garza just scored 38 against us.   Indiana is getting healthier and getting more from more players.   Our bigs just won a game (and 3 of them played well) playing against the best big in the conference and one of the best in the country.  What are you talking about?

I don't think this is the Indiana team of a month ago.  Will be interesting to see how they finish.

How many games will we play against a team with only 7 recruited scholarship players on it?

I’m not following the point of your post?

No, not everybody and to make that statement is a gross exaggeration.  I wanted him gone as much as most people but never to the point I would root against one of our teams.

You're right it wasn't everybody.  However there were a lot of true fans on it.  It happens all over sports, you've seen it.  Tanking.  The Colts did it with Suck for Luck.  This doesn't mean the fans or the organization hates the team.  It's a means of getting better.  Maybe it isn't your style, but Archie Miller basketball certainly isn't mine.

Hopefully this gets posted, somebody's been deleting my responses lately.  That's fair as a mod, but I wish it would be applied equally or at least explained instead of sniping from the sidelines.  As it is, it seems this board doesn't want different sides, it's decided to support Archie and censor differing opinions.  Heck, even talking about his poor performance has to be done in a thread that calls you purely negative.  Then if you're still posting that way, it gets ridiculed and deleted.

Anyway, I hope our future is brighter than I can see.  Go Hoosiers

The 2 best looking wins we've had took Devonte at his absolute best. If that's not a recipe for inconsistency then I don't know what is. I'm not all of a sudden believing this team has turned a corner because Devonte went bonkers again. I will concede that if Devonte plays that way we are capable of beating anyone in the country (at AH anyhow).

Don’t call people slow learners and your posts will stick around. You know that’s why. Don’t give me the “censoring” crap. If someone calls you something, you get upset about it.

But wait...what about the post I quoted where it called me out?  Can I not respond in kind?  Why one but not the other?

Is Archie bashing not allowed here? It's the mods right to choose, just trying for clarity.  It's perfectly fine to trash a player, players, fans, or posters, but not the coach.

Haven’t you done that for 3 straight years and you are still here posting? So I would say yes Archie bashing has been allowed here

Archie bashing is allowed; in fact, we’ve even set up a thread for just that purpose.

The ‘gif-sigh’ is because ya need to just. move. on.

I was just looking for clarity.  Why some posters are allowed to cuss posters out, but others aren't allowed to respond in kind.  I figured it was because of my thoughts on our coach.  If it's for a different reason, I'll be forever confused.  The groupthink on this board is strong and angry.

You might be looking for clarity but you only see what you want. I’ve personally hidden plenty of other peoples post for who have called out other posters. Can’t speak for anyone else. Also I’ve been known in the past to hide some posters post after clearly a night of drinking where they go on a cussing rampage about a coach and instead of warning them or giving them a mini vacation I just hid it and moved on
