Blackmon_for_3 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I can live with guys not being able to hit open shots. What I will never be able to live with is the lack of effort. That is 100% on Archie. If a kid doesn’t want to play hard he doesn’t play, but Archie continues to play them. Deserthoozier and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

DLG3 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I will say this...I watched a vastly less-talented Wisconsin team hang tough and play tough for 40 minutes, on the road no less. And they won. What is this team’s excuse? No leadership, starting at the top. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners MikeRoberts 1 Quote
Hoosier DaDa Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 My son's 5th grade basketball team scored 47 points in a game. They do 6 minute quarters. I will be surprised if IU breaks 47.Sent from my SM-G950U using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 At this point, I would just let the walk-ons play. Everybody else has quit. Deserthoozier and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

MikeRoberts Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Saying this for the very first time, took me 2.5 years but I have been thinking it for a long time. Archie has zero idea how to coach, build a team at this level. We are stuck in pergatory until a change is made.Zero ideaSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Iugradman 1 Quote
Magnanimous Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 The 2018 class is turning into the (Bowel) Movement 2.0. Going into this game the four remaining players (including Thompson) have scored a total of 207 points this season. I don't care if there have been injuries, not a single one is scoring more than 8 ppg. I was very high on Archie when he was hired and really liked what I saw from him in year one with regards to ball movement, emphasizing defense, and off-ball screens for shooters. The offensive sets have not only not improved, but have clearly regressed, and he has failed to bring in any semblance of a quality shooter. He'll get through this year in all likelihood since Glass is retiring in May and a new AD isn't (likely) going to fire a coach in late spring/early summer. However, given how weak Archie's foundational class is turning into, there isn't going to be much to work with next year. Guy better bring in some quality transfers at guard/the wing who can contribute immediately or he will definitely be shown the door after next season. Not only is this abysmal basketball, but the program has zero flavor as well right now. MikeRoberts, TXHoosierDaddy and IUfan_Charlie 3 Quote

Iugradman Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I mean, what more is there to say? It doesn’t get worse than this. The team is done mentally. More blowouts are coming. There is zero momentum with the program. Giving Archie another year won’t fix anything. MikeRoberts and VO5 2 Quote
HoosierTrav Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I’ve seen enough Indiana Basketball throughout the times to know where this program is headed. The fan base is going to turn on him, although I wish they’d turn their attention to the real culprits, McRobbie and the Athletic Dept. Recruiting is going to absolutely tank. Who in their right mind would want to come play in this offense? I’m pretty much burned out being a fan of this program. I think I’ll take a hiatus and check in during football season. I have reasonable expectations for football but I’m either unable or unwilling to adjust my expectations for basketball. MikeRoberts, Iugradman, WayneFleekHoosier and 4 others 7 Quote

Sota Hoosier Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I’m sorry but this team is no bueno to put it lightly. Try to stay positive but something is very off. Talent isn’t the problem. They are mentally out of it and there is zero chemistry. Arch should be better than this. MikeRoberts and Deserthoozier 2 Quote
