I also like to think that if the doctors had determined his competitive basketball career was over due to health that this news would already have been made public. It serves no purpose to anyone to keep that kind of news under wraps. Finally, Archie seems more focused on recruiting a guard and not necessarily a replacement for Hunter's spot on the roster. I know the word with Hunter is that it's a clotting issue. Assuming that it is, does anyone know if it's more Brandon Ingram or more Chris Bosh? Quote

Assuming that it is, does anyone know if it's more Brandon Ingram or more Chris Bosh?Bosh was cleared to play but the harsh injury to Gordon Hayward put things in perspective for Bosh and he realized he didn’t have the competitive spirit to risk further injury or problems. What I don’t understand is, if it’s DVT (for Hunter) then the docs can control INR numbers to the point that they know exactly what his clotting time will be. Seems to me the waiting part is to make sure all DVTs have cleared and he is not at risk of an embolism. The meds and the clotting issues imo is a much smaller issue. All conjecture because we don’t know exactly what’s up. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

From everything I’ve been told/researched, he wouldn’t be able to play while on meds due to the risk of bleeding and bruising. I can’t imagine what a Nick Ward clear out elbow would do to someone on blood thinners. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
HinnyHoosier Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Correct; they're waiting for him to be off anticoagulant therapy and for him to be off long enough without clotting right back up again. For his sake I hope he's on Eliquis. Much easier to manage and just as effective as, if not more than, warfarin (depending on what studies you read). HoosierFan1994 Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 I think for Hunter we just won't know a lot until practice starts back in October. If he isn't full go yet then it probably isn't good...but it is only April. Let's see how things are in 6 months. HinnyHoosier 1 Quote
Bobman1 Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI would be thrilled with this. Harris is the #66 player in the class according to 247 and Archie and Co. were on him prior to his commitment to Virginia Tech.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners HoosierAloha and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote
Crimson and Cream Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 With OSU picking up a commitment from 7 footer Ibrahima Diallo, you have to think this helps us with any potential interest in Brunk from the Buckeyes. That was my main concern was they would swoop in and attempt to snag him. Quote

But I haven't been as concerned about Ohio State swooping in currently because while we've heard that could be a potential destination for him, I don't think we've heard much any actual expressed interest from them. WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Excited to see these 2 new Hoosiers but I’ll be honest, I wonder if there is any Dawg in them. Hopefully the quiet Hoosier basketball player stretch is over soon. Part of me loves having great quality kids, but I want the most competitive guys on the court. Sometimes nice guys don’t win. Romeo and Juwan are good examples of this as well. It’s been a long stretch. Please win Indiana so I don’t have to come up with so many Cockamamy theories to explain our lack of success. Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 15, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 15, 2019 Jonathan Rothschild - HoosierStateOfMind Vijay Blackmon is receiving interest from a plethora of programs including University of Detroit who he had a visit with yesterday. Announcing his intention to transfer from the Indiana basketball program a couple of weekends ago, Blackmon has been busy since then. A once three-star recruit out of high school, Vijay Blackmon was offered a scholarship to Indiana as well as a handful of other division one programs. There was never a doubt of whether Blackmon would receive interest from division one programs; the question was what programs would he receive interest from? On Saturday, Blackmon was in Detroit for a meeting with the Titans, and according to sources had a terrific workout. University of Detroit currently has major ties with Indiana. Their head coach is Mike Davis who was the Head Coach of the Hoosiers from 2000 to 2006 after being an assistant to legendary coach Bob Knight for three years, prior to his head coaching experience. In 2002, Davis led the Hoosiers to a 19–11 record and was able to make a run to the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament title game but unfortunately lost to Maryland in the championship. A prolific scorer in high school, Blackmon averaged 21.3 points per game during his junior year and 17.4 points his senior season. Finishing up his high school career with 1,500 points, he also earned all-state honorable mention as a senior. This being said, Blackmon can make an immediate impact on a team like U of D. He can compliment star Antoine Davis who is the son of Mike Davis and also led the team with 26.1 points per game this season. With the Detroit Mercy Titans losing their second and third best scorers in McFolley and King, Blackmon can fill a scoring void for the Titans. Blackmon is ready to go wherever he plays next season. He is a graduate transfer with two full years of eligibility remaining and will be able to play immediately after transfer. ALASKA HOOSIER, CookHallGymRat, Crimson and Cream and 10 others 13 Quote

Str8Hoosiers Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Wait? We offered him a Scholarship to stay? I mean I get it that playing time isn't going to increase, so for him I see why he would make the move.... but why would we offer him a scholarship to stay? mamasa 1 Quote

The article is written by a IU junior for Fansided. Probably took some liberties with speculation, or heard best case scenario directly from Vijay.
