In the post-game show, the announcers are discussing our NCAA chances. Guess they have to talk about something. It's over, boys, and we blew it. Don't beat a dead horse.

I don't think we're dead. Chances are obviously low, but other teams on the bubble losing could give us a chance. Stewart Mandel just said that he thinks the committee will love the quad 1 wins and that he thinks we've got a shot.

It wasn't the officiating.  It was the effort.  There were a TON of bad calls in this game both ways.  That's the Big Ten.  Poor effort for 35 minutes in a play-in game gets you in the NIT (we hope).

Next year is a total rebuild, probably another NIT- if this team is in the NIT in 2021 as well, time to make a change.

There's 0 chance in my opinion.  I'm holding out for an NIT bid

What would it do for recruiting if you lost at home to a Northeastern or someone like that?  But I want them to be in because it's a chance at hanging a banner, even if it's unlikely.

We lost 12 if 13 games midseason, but you are concerned about losing a game to a decent low/mid major at the end if the  season will effect recruiting?

Seriously, I'm glad 18 year old recruits aren't as fragile as fans are.  The things I heard our 'fans' yelling at Romeo today were appalling.

No chance.  Absolutely no way.  Everyone knew they had to win today, which is why the lack of trying is disappointing.  Hey if they don't care why should we I guess.

Well. THAT was brutal.

They don't deserve a slot at the dance... and it would probably just provide IU with another opportunity to embarrass themselves...

Hated for J-Mo's career to end that way, but it is what it is.

Pretty sure nobody said to fire him. Saying he'll be on the hot seat is quite different from saying "fire him". People laughed at me (wasn't on this board at the time) when I started saying Crean was on the hot seat in his final season. So I guess you all can laugh all you want but I bet I'm not far off if next year goes this badly or worse.

I thought today they came out scared and never recovered. Not necessarily uninspired. Rob made more turnovers in the first 2 minutes than he had in the last 6 weeks. Smith idk wtf that was. Davis was decent in spurts. Juwan no showed. We got the gift pack of Devonte today.

They started out hesitant like so many games this season then got punched in the mouth repeatedly and it took them until the last 5 minutes to recover. Smith often plays soft mentally and physically. He never recovered after being abused on his first two drives, making 2-3 mistakes and being yanked. Morgan was gassed much of the game from trying to hold his position while Wesson slammed him in the chest and shoved him in the back repeatedly. Devonte and Davis were the only ones that really responded with toughness. Foul trouble and the inability of anyone other the Devonte to hit shots most of the game limited Davis' effectiveness.

The question I have is, if Purdue can be a consistently good program, why cant IU?  I'm not being sarcastic in any way.  What has changed in the past 30 years?  Why is Purdue a perennial tournament team and IU isn't?  Never would have believed it.
