I assumed that applied to end of season transfers as well. Silly me expecting the NCAA to make something clear and sensical. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk Nope, that is why we have to keep Green & Smith and keep them happy until then... at least happy enough to not quit the team or their classes. There has to be a point when players can leave without repercussion simply because of graduating players. Schools shouldn't be (and aren't) dinged for a player not coming back once they have graduated and/or used up their eligibility, that is why they do the mid-season and not end of season transfers etc. Quote

They had Rick Bozich on and he said he was talking to an NBA scout about Langford. He asked the scout if Lagford had hurt himself by coming to Indiana. The scout's response was something like (I'm paraphrasing from memory), No, not at all. He is playing with a G-league player and 3 other players who are likely reserves on most other B1G teams. Ouch. If that's the case, there's a ways to go... Here's the whole segment. Has Romeo Langford held his place in the Lottery? SCOUT ONE: “He’s still a lottery pick because the overall talent is there. You can see it. He can score, and people are always going to like that. The final piece that people will be looking at is his shooting, but he’s gotten better with that this season.” SCOUT TWO: “I like Romeo. To me, Romeo is a top-five pick. He will go no later than No. 8. “I know some people have questioned him because of the season that Indiana is having, but look at who he is playing with. “They have one guy (Juwan Morgan) who will probably play in the G-League. The rest of those guys would be substitutes coming off the bench on the good teams in the Big Ten. It’s just not a very talented team. “The first game I scouted Indiana in person was at Duke, and Romeo was one of the few guys who could even function in the first half. The rest of the guys could not function until the game was already over. The stage was too big. “Romeo has an NBA skill set. What can’t he do? He can drive. He can finish around the basket. He’s a very smooth and balanced player. “Does he need to improve his shot? Yes. Does he need to get stronger? Yes — so do nine out every 10 guys coming out of college basketball. Romeo will be fine.” bigrod, Bowhunter, Geometry Hoosier and 10 others 11 2 Quote

Maybe I just don’t understand the whole APR thing either, bigrod? Those are two separate issues. APR has to do with kids taking and getting decent grades in their classes. The NCAA, however, decided that the University of No Classes athletes must have the required minimum grade point averages but are exempt from actually taking real classes. I will puke if they win another championship this year. pumpfake, ALASKA HOOSIER, ray and 1 other 4 Quote

I’d put this at 0.1% chance he comes back. Going to be a top 10 pick, potentially top 5. While he could develop, he’d be an idiot to risk injury for another year. He’ll enjoy his experience next year being a millionaire :) Ranger78, DChoosier, bigrod and 4 others 7 Quote

MikeRoberts Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 so what I am hearing is this can be put squarely on the shoulders of Fred Glass. How did he allow Crean to do this to the program for 3 straight years? IUrocker Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Obviously people think Crean had it way worse when he took the IU job when Archie did based off talent level...Archie had more talent than Crean had, yada yada, which is true. Well at least Crean had players that wanted to be there and played hard for their coach. Even though Crean had less talent, what Archie seems to be going through with his hands being tied with who he could and couldn’t have on the team and dealing with their attitudes and lack of effort can be just as bad. To think if Archie was able to have things how he wanted it when he got here by getting rid of a handful of guys he didn’t see fit right off the bat, things would obviously be way different than they are now and we most likely wouldn’t be dealing with any of the lack of effort levels and attitudes we are now. Heck I feel just as bad for Archie than I did for Crean when he first took over the program.....and then to realize Crean and Glass may have f’ed up the APR so bad that Archie had to deal with having his hands tied and keep players around that probably didn’t want to be there and since they had to stay, affecting their attitudes towards the new coach, makes me feel MORE sorry for Archie. This roster management really is probably a nightmare scenario for Archie knowing he’s got a bunch of kids he calls quiet and lack leadership, etc. These first couple years have been a do what you can with what you’ve got type of thing, and this year really endes up being bad because the negative attitudes really came out into the open. Props to Archie for keeping calm and dealing with it like a professional until the end of the season. pumpfake, hoosierfan6157, ALASKA HOOSIER and 4 others 6 1 Quote

I think we just saw the end of one and done with that injury. Quote

Bailey7878 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 I do not but IMO I just don't see him being this level of a player.
