biteoftheapple Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Its as foolish bring Knight up as it talking about Crean. Both are long gone. Both left a legacy but it means nothing to this teams performance. woodenshoemanHoosierfan and MoyeNeeded 2 Quote

Bailey7878 Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 I have to admit that I’m scratching my head with the early questioning of Miller. I’m frustrated too but Miller is a bulldog, and I believe he will eventually have a team that mirrors his personality.Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkEvery coach should be questioned. The probably with crean was he got a three or four year pass with no questioning anything of him.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

Popular Post Stromboli Posted November 24, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2018 We won. In the end, we won pretty easily. Pretty clear the guys didn't "give it their all" tonight. They did give enough to win. That's ultimately what matters. This was not our super bowl. Like it or not, trying harder when the stakes are higher is just human nature. UC Davis, evidently, was never a threat, and the guys knew it. Let's settle down a smidge. Maybe even support the team? They are winning. ellen.walden, Deserthoozier, southsidehoosier and 8 others 11 Quote

At some point the product you see consistently is the product you will continue to see. Now I'm not done with Archie yet but yes he has some splainin' to do after this week. RaceToTheTop Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 It was a bad performance that ended up as a 14 point win against a bad team. On to the next one. theriverpilot, Bobman1 and mamasa 3 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Tired of the "Duke is going to destroy us" posts. That's pretty much true regardless of how we were playing. We are going to have a lot of company in the group if teams Duke beat easily.....and there are going to be dome pretty good teams in that group. ellen.walden, mamasa and mark1981 3 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 Good god, our fan base makes me shake my head sometimes. [emoji849]Any fan base with expectations Better react like we are when the team isn’t competing, defending, and lacking seemingly all confidence at home against UC Davis. What would any competitive fan base do? We are a blue blood school that hasn’t tasted recurring success for 30 years. Patience is getting a little thin and even fanbases that have regular success would respond just like us. Why do we always beat up our own fan base???? Popular Post Stuhoo Posted November 24, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2018 Bielfeldt made a nice point: The 1976 undefeated Hoosiers beat (among their 32 wins) a 6-20 Ohio State team by two points, 66-64. This team ain’t the 1976 Hoosiers. Especially with three of our top nine players sidelined. We won by 14 to move to 5-1. We played uninspired ball for 30 minutes, and had plenty in the tank at the end. We’re fine. taco corp, Bobman1, hoosierdogg and 12 others 14 1 Quote

biteoftheapple Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 This team needs to be reminded that defense travels. You can win playing good def. Until tge last 6mins we were both outshot and outrebounded. Tge rebounding needs improvement certainly . WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Agreed on a 1 game basis but in this young season we have played poorly 3 games in a row and do not seem to be getting better at the most rudimentary parts of the game like free throws, layups and passing. It’s crazy given how much talent we have, injuries or not. Every team has injuries and it seems like several are precautionary Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Hardwood83 1 Quote

These guys are still adjusting. Just watch and see what happens. Trust an old Hoosier who’s seen many a time even with bob knight teams. If this team gets some of the injured players back, this team will be real fun to watch. Our '81 championship team was busy getting waxed in Hawaii about this time in 1980. Popular Post Old Friend Posted November 24, 2018 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2018 We're playing with one real point guard, a big man off the bench who's coming off a debilitating injury, starting a kid in Durham, forced to play 38 minutes and shouldn't play more than 10 (and you sure as hell can't play him 38 minutes if he's not going to get a single assist); plus giving minutes to Anderson who's clearly not ready. You cannot...in any league at any level...successfully play a series of games where starters are playing 36-40 minutes every night. That said, you also can't have bagels off the bench. 0 points, 3 rebounds, 3 turnovers, an assist, and just 4 shot attempts from your bench? That can't happen. You also can't have 11 assists as a team and one kid gets 8 of them. You can't have a negative assist:TO ratio. You can't keep missing 1/3rd of your FT's. You can't play an offensive style that has no flow. You can't rely on Morgan to make five 3's every night and as a team shooting 59% from out there. Room for concern? Absolutely. Health and fatigue as a huge reason for the problems? Definitely. darB s'tI, JimBobJimmyBob, WayneFleekHoosier and 8 others 9 2 Quote
