Sideline reporter said before the Purdue game that the NCAA wouldn't approve a brace Haas wanted to wear on his elbow and without it, Painter decided not to play him. My question: What if it's Purdue and IU at Mackey in early February? Who rules on the brace then?

I would imagine it’s still the officials, maybe in contact with the NCAA? Just a guess. 

Officials make rulings on that in high school at least.

Unless it's a head injury I think it should be up to the player if he plays. This is Haas's last meaningful stretch of games, if he wants to give it a go then let him.

Eh, I read it as Purdue was fully prepared to play him, it was the NCAA not clearing his brace........ which makes sense, that thing had intense padding

I think painter is a good coach, but things like this are why Purdue will never win big in the tourney

That doesn't happen. Come on, refs wouldn't fall for that. 15-8 or whatever on the fouls was just pu being aggressive and Butler settling for jumpers..
