Archie is too good to accept ‘these are not my players’. He will hold these players to a high standard and will make something out of this season. I’m not sure that will equal great success this year, but I’m guessing we see a big change through out the year.

At some point people will let go of the Crean excuses, we got taken to the wood shed and it hurts. Coach Miller is the answer and I would guess he’s not blaming this loss on Tom Crean. Coach Miller is a leader and he’s going to figure it out. I’m not sure the answer is more 1 and done type players, because we just got ‘handled’ by a bunch of college 4 year players. Coach Miller gets it and to think he doesn’t after one game is foolish. He’s going to figure out what players want to play his way and make adjustments.

Bob Knight's 1st game: IU (17-8 that season) beat Ball State (9-15) by 7 at Assembly Hall

I realize a 7 point win is better than a 21 point loss.....duh. However I think 2 things to note with this is a) pretty sure ISU is a much better opponent than that BSU team b) regardless I doubt people were thinking we had a 3 time National Champion/Hall of Fame coach after that game. My point? Freaking relax. When a coach takes a job due to previous coach being fired there's obviously going to be inherited flaws with the current makeup of that team. You can be critical without being hysterical.

I seriously don’t know what you all expected. I warned early on that a coach wasn’t going to fix all of the turnover, defense, and PG issues. I’m disappointed by how bad this was, but not shocked. This is the same BAD team from last year, less a few NBA players with no immediate impact additions. Get ready to hate this season.

 

Also, Freddie needs more minutes. Like what he’s doing.

Well guys, there's nowhere to go but up. Some nights you just don't have it. We're gonna find out what these guys are made of. If some players don't have the heart to pick themselves up off the mat then they're going to get splinters riding the pine. On to the next one.

The key is to keep getting better. Last year, we beat Kansas and everyone was fat and happy. One game does not make a season. I️ still think the key is that we are playing our best at the end of the season - not the first game. Yeah, it sucks to lose to ISU on our floor, but hopefully this team learns from it moving forward. I️ think we all were hoarding a bit of fools gold here. It will get better.

So people are now arguing if we had crean we win this game? That is insane we looked like crud last season and now take away arguably our 3 beat players and actually we looked bad with og so 4 best players. Add that osu is shooting loghts out and this is what u get. I get the anxiety some have from our recent history but this is how we find out if archie is our guy by fighting back during a season with a team like this. Relax it is good archie is getting humiliated along with us lets hope he dont like it and responds better than the former coach

BGleas  had the best post in the thread. A roster full of role players. This is why I asked after HH (and continue to do so) who is our best player? We dont have one. That said, I believe Archie and the staff will mold these guys into some semblance of a team.
