Josh Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 I agree we shouldnt lose a game like this. But I question the talent level. Who is our best player? At what positions can we compete against the talent level of a MSU? We have a whole team of guys who should be the 3-5 option.MSU? Holy crap, we just got rolled at home to ISU. Our talent level was superior to theirs. MikeRoberts 1 Quote
Popular Post ElectricBoogaloo Posted November 11, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 11, 2017 Regardless of the coach, when you have a roster full of 4 star players they should be able to easily handle a team like Indiana State. Tonight was embarrassing. I know Al Durham wants to play. If Rojo and Newkirk don’t, he can take their spot in the lineup. Class of '66 Old Fart, Josh, Stromboli and 6 others 9 Quote
Josh Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 I know Newkirk wasn't great tonight, but I'd argue he was better than Cujo Quote

I do expect us to beat Indiana State and worst case scenario they catch fire and we lose a close but tough fought game. They rolled over us like we were a high school team. That is unacceptable. This year, we can lose to Duke, MSU etc, not thisSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app miketherevelator 1 Quote
Bailey7878 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Our roster just isn't very good. Granted we're better than a team that gets blown out at home to Indiana State, but we just don't have enough guys right now. I don't think Hartman is going to make that much of a difference. We'll get better eventually, and when we do, the roster is going to look a LOT different than it currently does.Hartman is good but I think he needs stars around him. He's more of a third or 4th option type good.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote
Popular Post BGleas Posted November 11, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 11, 2017 At this point what guys were ranked doesn’t really matter. The bottom line is we have a team full of role players. Newkirk is a 3rd guard. RoJo reminds of Will Sheehey, great guy when he’s your 4th or 5th best guy, but a train wreck as a leader and primary player. This team just has a bunch of average guys. Nobody on this team is great at anything. No great shooters. No great ball handlers. No great rebounders, or defenders. No great slashers. Not particularly long or much size. It’s just a bunch of role players. HoosierX, WayneFleekHoosier, Ranger78 and 6 others 9 Quote
Popular Post Uspshoosier Posted November 11, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 11, 2017 By the time I️ drove home from Bloomington to Greenwood I had 10 miss calls and texts from old fraternity brothers from my ISU days. Good times[emoji90]. That was rough. That was a nice reality check for fans (myself included) that this is the same team minus 3 top scorers that went 18-16. Definitely looked lost on defense. Players were in the wrong spots and on multiple times pretty much screened their own teammate and gave up layups. Maybe this team has talent like some say ( they did have some stars by their name when they came)I️ would argue some were mis-evaluated. You can’t fit a square peg into a round hole. Regardless of talent if they don’t fit into the system they are not going to be successful in my opinion. I️ would guess even if Romeo and Garland decide to be Hoosiers, they will still be under 13 Schollys when it’s all said and done. While it sucked watching my Alma Mater destroy IU the future is bright and I️ still got to step foot in Assembly Hall. I️ will be there Sunday with my 6 year old. Jeff_Boy_Ardee Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 How did Rojo play so much then. It’s the first game of the year. Archie needs him to be a leader and he’s going to have bad games and have to learn how to play through them and find other ways to contribute. This is going to be a learning year. We lost our three best players, have a brand new offense, and a brand new defense. Both of which are completely new concepts to creans players imo. Perhaps leaving certain players in there to figure it out was coaching in itself. Now if this continues multiple games I️ can see your point, but give me a break. Obviously we played horrible and this was an embarrassing game, but we’re going to get better. Archie clearly took blame for a lot of things and pointed out areas that need to be worked on, not just stared blankly in to a camera and make excuses. Everyone needs to chill out and give things a couple games before they start the TV coaching antics.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mamasa, thebigweave and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
Jeff_Boy_Ardee Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 I don’t see how you can say IU for sure wins this game with Crean. IU doesn’t win this game with anyone the way they played tonightCrean lost his three best players, no one on our team was hitting threes and we know they wouldn’t have played defense anyways. That’s a loss with him as well, let’s be serious. Edit:Sorry HoosierGuy that was not directed at you, in on your side here. yogisballin Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Keep Scott in check and we should be good. He can single handedly take over games like his brother. Sycamores should be improved this year, but no reason IU doesn’t handle them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersReallySent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Ranger78 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 At some point people will let go of the Crean excuses, we got taken to the wood shed and it hurts. Coach Miller is the answer and I would guess he’s not blaming this loss on Tom Crean. Coach Miller is a leader and he’s going to figure it out. I’m not sure the answer is more 1 and done type players, because we just got ‘handled’ by a bunch of college 4 year players. Coach Miller gets it and to think he doesn’t after one game is foolish. He’s going to figure out what players want to play his way and make adjustments. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners thebigweave, BGleas, HoosierAloha and 4 others 7 Quote

With all that said, I think Archie will figure this team out to an extent. What that means I’m not sure, but he’s too good a coach. The season won’t be a complete disaster.
