"It's so tough because they guard you and they don't let you run. The key to scoring in any game is to constantly beat your opponent down the floor and score before they have their defense set. Once the defense is set, it's just so hard to do anything. They don't let you drive, and they don't leave you open on the perimeter. To overcome that, you just have to build a hunger and want it more. Power your way to the hoop, even if they get in your way. Shoot the basketball even with a hand in your face and just visualize it going through the hoop. Turnovers will happen; it's just how the game works. Just focus on wanting it more than them and it will happen. And make sure you get more deflections." CR3AMnCR1MS0N, GloryDays, Iugradman and 12 others 9 6 Quote

I didn't watch that whole game so maybe he was good, but when I was watching the end it was same ol' Crean.... He even said Northwestern played great D on the final play and basically insinuated the drive was unstoppable... I flipped it back to ESPN2 and Rafferty was doing a highlight immediately after of that same play and mentioned how lost the Defense was. I truly believe he only sees 1 side of the court. A bit earlier he tried to pull a Tony Romo and call out what the play would be, not even close. Felt like he was guessing and hoping to be right and look like the smartest guy in the room. Like I said I didn't watch the whole game so maybe those were just blips and overall he was good? Hoosierfan2017, Iugradman and BTOWN 3 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I think he's always been a Crean fan. Crean fans would enjoy his take last night as it was classic Crean. Imo he gets bogged down way too much by finite details. Misses the Forrest through the trees. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners biteoftheapple, ALASKA HOOSIER, GloryDays and 2 others 5 Quote

tkbbn Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Liked him better there than where he was a year ago. Appreciate what he did for us but couldn't take us to the level that we all want. But oh geez that tan!!! HoosierAloha and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

TXHoosierDaddy Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I know you can say this about most announcers who coached but I find it hard to listen to him just on the basis that half the stuff he points out he didn't do well at IU. It's like a credibility hit. He's obviously very knowledgeable and better than some of the other yo yo's they have working there. Hutch89, Josh, Iugradman and 3 others 6 Quote
Ryno6284 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I'm surprised he is calling games, and isn't just a studio analyst. He would be easier to accept in short segments instead of a whole game of talking! Quote
mdn82 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I am pretty sure every school that has fired a coach that became an analyst says the same thing. There is a reason Tom Crean is an analyst and Coach K who has forgot more basketball than Crean has learned is in a different role. Don’t know why you guys are so offended.
