Saw on another board the Kansas hasn't had a player sign with Nike in quite some time despite Nike dominating NBA shoe deals.

Do you have a link that supports the Crean-Johnson connection as the reason that Louisville passed on Crean? One could argue that there are plenty of other reasons to pass on him... but don't want to take this thread off into the weeds.

On the Louisville boards I guess their local radio said it. So idk if true but seems odd to lie about.

Yes! Go on the Cards boards. A majority down here not wanting anything to do with Crean. They think he is a joke. Some of the conspiracy idiot rednecks down here believe IU has part in this whole thing starting back with Hookergate! And now until Kenny Johnson's name is official cleared they believe he involved with this.

I doubt any coach would want to go in there as an interim coach if they could land a non-interim job at a Div 1 program. Especially if they have potential death penalty looming and possible boosters that are out of control.

I get that they need a coach by like, tomorrow. But it blows my mind they decided to promote from within on this one. How could anybody think that is a good idea?

Its Louisville, thinking is not a requirement. I mean come on look at all the other problems at the school, possibly losing accreditation, re-financing that fancy new arena that the taxpayers forked out a huge sum of money for, Hookergate, Adidasgate, board of trustees....

This school is in the middle of a full blown melt-down!

They're trying to keep their players from jumping ship. The players met and have stated that naming Padgett will be helpful in accomplishing that goal. 

However, this is a theory that serves the interests of Louisville's status quo, and as Peter Sellers once so eloquently put:
