Yep. This thought I'm sure has crossed all of our minds over the last week.

Arizona was doing what all the other big programs are doing and doing it better than most.

I have mixed feelings on all this. I don't think they can ever fix the cheating. The teams that figure out how to best bend the rules will usually get the best players and generally be better teams. History indicates this.

I don't want us to cheat ever but I don't want us to lose eternally because others are. Mixed bag.

What to do?

Completely "fix" it? no, I agree that's not gonna happen. But you can make it so painful to cheat that it's not worth it for most.

The risk/reward is so out of whack that they have to cheat to keep up with the Calipari's, er I mean the Joneses. If the NCAA would stop with the 3yr long investigations that end up with nothing and instead drop the hammer it would make a difference.

IMO, simplify the rules then enforce them ruthlessly with harsh penalties. Otherwise cheating is too profitable.

Even if the NCAA starts paying the players, the cheaters will pay more to get the big recruits

Meantime, Matthew has no official list, but the schools working hardest, his dad said, include Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin.“Those are the ones that are most active right now,” his dad said. “It’s really kind of narrowed its focus.”

Will Hurt even play college ball?  It's possible the 1 and done rule is over by then.

IMO he's going to college even if the NBA changes the rule because the one negative of his game is his lack of strength. His game is great, highly skilled but he needs to get vastly stronger before he can play against grown @$$ men.

The NBA always has and always will draft on potential.

He already committed to Kentucky?
WOW; they just offered him and he committed the same day. That’s crazy!
Oh well; on to the next one.

We will get a 5 star or two in 2019 but I will bet you a steak dinner it won't be hurt. He is a long shot at best.

Well I feel really stupid...

I took this post literally and just spent several minutes looking for confirmation that he committed. Lol.
