Well it's the truth.  We couldn't afford potential, we needed proven.  This hire HAD to be right, period.  Looking strictly at college coaches, he would've been 3rd on my list at best.

Yes we can't afford potential! Unless of course the coach we hire reaches his potential, in which case we could afford potential. But yes, we can't afford it!

Look at his coaching record at Dayton. That about says it all. Crean showed more potential at the time of his hiring than Miller.
