Look at his coaching record at Dayton. That about says it all. Crean showed more potential at the time of his hiring than Miller.

There's no guarantee he will.  That's why I say we need proven.  At the end of the day he's probably more likely to be the next Tom Crean than the next Bob Knight or Coach K.

If Billy Donovan wanted the job, he would have the job. He apparently does not want it. Therefore, you hire your next best option. If that fractures the fan base, the fan base is stupid.

@ESPNAndyKatz: Indiana is tentatively scheduling a news conference for Monday to introduce Dayton's Archie Miller as its next head basketball coach. Miller has been a perennial winner at Dayton. He knows the Midwest in recruiting, but is outside the Indiana family. There had been speculation that the Hoosiers would stay in the family tree, but AD Fred Glass never said that was a requirement.
