He isn't very skilled basketball wise, but he's strong and athletic. Let him rough some dudes up in the paint and tell him to only shoot on lobs or put backs. Yeah, he's a guy that if he had four years at IU I think could have really developed. At worst, he's a heck of an athlete who will go in and grab rebounds and look to get some putbacks. Hoosier DaDa Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I know it has been said before, but all this talk about McSwain made me think again. I just can't help to think if he can catch a football. He would make a hell of a tight end. JaybobHoosier, Napleshoosier and GloryDays 3 Quote

Jeff_Boy_Ardee Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Sure it is. I just don't think it's indicative of future success. It seems you are of the opinion that Archie should have taken DAYTON to multiple Sweet 16s or further to be successful? DAYTON!? Rarely do schools hire big time successful coaches for open vacancies, why? Because those guys are already at big time successful programs.IMO you have to look at the full picture not just a W/L record. Archie has a proven track record of success at Dayton, his teams have demonstrated they can play aggressive defense and if you watch or research on his philosophies he is a very intelligent coach as far as Xs and Os and understanding how to make adapt his system for his players and make proper adjustments, unlike what we've seen for awhile.I understand some may be skeptical, I am one that thinks Archie was the best hire and am very excited to have him here. Don't think it's fair to say he's no better than Crean at Marquette because he didn't go far enough? He was one game away from the FF at freaking Dayton. (With Priller, Gelon, McSwain) we need all the legit B1G bodies we can get. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners An option???? "Off the court, Eric Ayala is expected to graduate with top honors in his class next week. He has already qualified for college, including passing the SAT and ACT, and is turning his attention to what he might focus on in college. He taken numerous unofficial visits, according to his coach, but has yet to take one of his five official visits. “Eric comes from a strong family, and he is a great student,” Espinosa says. “Whatever he decides to do, he’ll do the right thing.” If Ayala decides to classify into the Class of 2017, a scholarship would need to open for him to join Indiana’s team. However, if Ayala reclassifies into the Class of 2018, the Hoosiers would have five open scholarships. According to his coach, Ayala holds 22 scholarship offers from all around the country, including Syracuse, Arizona, Connecticut and Maryland. Indiana offered the 6-5, 190-pound combo guard on April 24. Realistically, Ayala could just get up and go if the opportunity presented itself." ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Stromboli Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 About this new source saying someone is going to transfer... Forgive me if I'm apprehensive. Why would this happen after the scholarship situation worked itself out? No one needs to leave, and the program is exciting now. Grant, as far as I can tell, loves being a Hoosier. Priller is a crowd favorite, living the best days of his life. And Freddie is tight with his teammates and likely doesn't want to sit out a year. The program is filled with hope right now. The only information which supports a transfer would be Gelon seeing our current roster and the guards we're currently recruiting. There won't be much playing time for a guy that deep. My feeling is that he understands this and accepts it. Of course I may be wrong. But the timing seems off. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Well he's the same guy that told us what was going on with the coaching situation down to Clif Marshall being the strength coach. While at the same time other sites, especially places like 24/7 were dead wrong throughout the whole process. So until he gives me a reason to not believe him he's got the benefit of the doubt. Thank you. This players mind was made up but he could always change it. He does love IU and might continue his studies here. But until it's announced publicly I could always be wrong. But this is the same source I got all of my info about the assistants and Strength coach so have no reason not to believe it. If it's not announced by this time next week then I will say I'm wrong. IMO, you will not be wrong; either way you are accurately sharing what you've heard. Your source might be wrong, not you, and the board should remember that, so that solid posters who share good info know that they are valued! Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Turning our attention away from RoJo..... Pretty much a fluff piece on De'Ron Davis and spending the summer in Bloomington but he's rooming with CuJo and Devonte which eliminate my thoughts that CuJo was a potential transfer out. http://iuhoosiers.com/news/2017/5/19/mens-basketball-summer-q-a-de-ron-davis.aspx LockdownD, Stromboli and IUsafety 3 Quote

I thought JMor was there too but sitting in a different area. I could easily see Davis and Green being leaders of this team in a few years. Str8Hoosiers 1 Quote
